Vllith the 'foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as thezdescription proceeds, the invention resides in.the combination and arrangement ofp-artslandin the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.

In the embodiment illustrated, the car derailer and replacer or jumper 1 constituting this invention comprises two rail sections 2 and 3 arranged parallel for apo-rtion of their length, 2 constituting what may be termed the main rail and 3 the guard rail. The guard rail 3 has its inner end deflected as shown at 4 to facilitate the passage of a car ,wheel from the -main track rail, not shown,'onto the jumper.
