Beferi'ing inore in detail to the acompzi` nying drawings, 'end particularly to Fignres 1 and'f, there is illust'ated e windmill tov embodying` a frame structure including: perpendici'ilar posts 1, 2 and 3, the side " posts 2 and 3 being connected by bmce bars 4, -while a base platform section 5 extends between the posts 1 'and 2, as cleerly shown greater height vthan the posts '3 and [are connected et their upper ends by 'bra-ce bars 6.. 'As shown in Figure Q, the power s'heft 7 carries al crenk'arm 15 that is connected to the link arrn of the lower fig'ure -nd the saw bla-de 14 ls clearly illustrated.
The wind wheel 'associated with the powei' LUK tends outwardly of each recessed portion 17 having the onter face thereof adjacent the outer end of the arm recessed as at 20 with the bottom wall of the recess having` a groove 217 the recess being; closed by a block 22 retained in position on the arm 19 by fastening devices 23t An annnlar band. or ring 24 is received in the grooves 21 of the bracket arms 19 for concentric rotation relative to the disk 16 and is retained in position in the arms 19 by the several blocks 22 associated with said arm. i
A blade 25 is associated with each disk projection 18, the specific m'ounting' being` more clearly shown in Figures l' and 6, `the inner end of each blade carrying a shaft 26 circumferentially toothed as at 27 adiacent the 'inner end thereof while the eX- treme inner end of the shaft 26 is reduced and swivelly mounted asat 28 'in a recess 29 formed in the onter end of' the projection 18; As shown in Figrnre '6, one side face of the ring' 211 is provided with rack teeth 80 nieshinp; with the teeth 27 upon the shaft 2G7 shifting' movenient of the ring 24V relative to said shafts 26 imparting ro- Vtary movement to said shafts'for reversing the feathering po'sition of the blades 25.1-
The shifting means for thering 21'includes a bracke't 31 mounted 1n one of the recesses 17 V'as shown inV Figures 11 and 7, sald Abracket rotatably supporting the shaft 321 that carries a pinion 33 in mesh with ratchet teeth 811 provided upon the inner side of the ring, one end of the shaft 32 carrying 'a wrench receiving projection to effect rotation thereof. To hold the pinion and ring 24 in adjusted position, a-catchpin 35'on the bracket 31 is moved in'to enn'ag'ement with said pinion as clearly shown. in Figure 7.
From the above detaileddescription of the device it is believed that the construction and loperation thereof will at once be apparent, it being noted that the wind wheel' being' operated by wind pressure, the power shaft 7 is rotated thereby and' through the medium of the crank Va-rrn 15 upon said shaft the saw blade 14- is reciprocated by the link arin connection 13 between the saw blade vand the 'toy fig'ures creating the impression 'of said. toy figures operatingpthe saw; Toreverse the direction of rotation of wind wheel, the spring catchv is re-' leased from the pin33 as shown in Fig'nres 4 and 7 and awrench supplied to the key end of the shaft 32 will rotate said pinion and cause a shifting` moveinent of the ring 24 relative to the shaft 26 of 'the wind wheel. blade 25, the engagement 27-30 between saidring and' shaft reversing the featherino' position of said blades. i
lWhile there .is herein shown and described the preferred embodiments of my:
invention, it is lto be understood that minor changes in the construction, combinationV and arrangement of parts maybe made without departing fromV the spirit and scope of the invention.
