To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN H. SAT'ILER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city and county of San Francisco, State of California, have invented a certaln new and useful Gas Stove, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to gas stoves provided with a solid fuel combustion chamber ciently, quickly and uniformly heated by the A further object of the invention 1s to provide a gas stove of the class described in which the products of combustion from the combustion'chamber discharge directly into the exhaust flue and the products of combustion from the gas oven discharge indirectly into the exhaust flue.
The invention possesses other advantaoeous features, some of which, with the fore oing, will be set forth at len th in the ollowing description where I she I outline in full, that form of the invention which I have selected for illustration in the drawings accompanying and forming part of the present specification. In said drawings T have shown one form of stove embodyin my invention, but it is to be understoo that I do not limit myself to such form, since the invention, as set forth in the claims, may be embodied in a plurality of forms.

The stove of my invention is provided at one side, witha fire box 2, provided with a tiltable grate 3, for the burning of solid GAS S'EQVE.

The'fire box is contained within a chamber formed by the front stove plate 4, the front oven plate 5, the to stove plate 6 and the bottom stove plate upon WhlCh latter, the ash receptacle 8 is disposed. The side walls of the fire box are spaced from the front stove plate a and the front oven plate 5, forming passages between the fire-box and these plates and the upper edges of the side walls of the fire box contact with the top stove plate 6. At the rear, the fire-box opens directly into the exhaust fine 9 and the exhaust products from the oven, pass into the fire-box and thence into the flue.
The gas oven is contained between the front oven plate 5, the back oven plate 12, the rear oven plate 13, the bottom oven plate 14: and the top oven plate 15. The bottom oven plate 14 is spaced above the bottom stove plate 7 and a gas burner 16, extending longitudinally of the stove, is disposed in the space between said plates. Air for the combustion of the gas enters the burner chamber through a plurality of apertures 17 disposed in a ongitudinal row adj acent the front edge of the plate 7. The bottom oven plate 14: is of less depth than th oven, providing a passage 18 at the-rear thereof, for the passage of the hot into the oven, and is of less width than the oven, bemg supported on angles 19 arranged at the front and back of the oven, providing passages 21, at the sides of the oven, for the passage of the hot gases from the burner chamber into the oven. The hot gases from the burner chamber are also introduced into the oven through a row of apertures 22 in the bottom oven plate 14;, adjacent the front edge thereof. The hot gases therefore enter the oven at the front and rear and at the two sides and are uniformly and quickly distributed through the oven. The burner 16 is gases provided with an ignition tube 23 opening under one of the apertures 22, access to which is obtained by opening the oven door 24. The oven is also provided adjacent the top with a broiling burner 25.
Disposed upon and spaced from the to oven plate 15, is a top p ate 26, above which the usual gas burners for fryin and boiling are disposed. The chamber between the plates 15 and 26 is formed into a flue by the longitudinal partition 27 which extends from the front oven plate 5 toward the back lltltl are ' oven plate 12, but not to said latter plate:

The apertures 34 are positioned above the apertures 31, so that the hot exhaust products find a ready outlet and the box 0 not pass into the chamber 28 or into the oven.
The flue 9 opens directly into the fire box 2, at the rear thereof, so that the gases of combustion pass directly from the fire box into the flue. The gases of combustion produced by the combustion of gas, pass thru the aperture 38, around the partition 27, thru the apertures 31 and the apertures 34-.into the upper portion of the fire box.

In a gas stove, a front oven plate, a back oven plate, a rear oven plate, a bottom oven plate and a top oven plate, enclosing an oven, said bottom oven plate being spaced from said rear, front-and back oven plates and being provided adjacent its forward edge with a plurality of apertures, said top oven plate being provided adjacent its forward edge with a plurality of apertures and a gas burner disposed below said bottom oven late.

In a gas stove, a front oven plate, a back oven plate, a rear oven plate, a bottom oven plate and a top oven plate, enclosing an oven, said bottom oven plate being spaced from said rear, front and back oven plates and being provided adjacent its forward edge with a plurality of apertures, a gas burner disposed below said bottom oven plate, said top oven plate being provided adjacent its forward edge with a plurality of apertures, a to stove plate overlying and spaced from sald top oven plate and forming therewith a chamber, a solid fuel combustion chamber, an exhaust flue opening directly into said combustion chamber, said front oven plate being provided with apertures connecting said chamber which lies above the top oven plate with the combustion chamber, and a gas burner disposed below said bottom oven late.
