Be it known that l, Holman P. CHANDLER, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Mansiield, in the county of Richland and State of Ohio, have invented cer-` support for gripping a trolley wire and suspending it from an overhead hanger.
One object of my invention is to produce a device having incorporated therein means for securing the device to a hanger or other support, and havingv means which can be rotated into -alinement with the conductor and caused to grip the conductor and in which the parts of which the device `is composed are held together against disassembly after being brought into proper assembled relation. i
My invention resides in the new and novel construction, combination and arrangement 'of the various parts herein more fully set forth and described in this specific-ation and shown in the accompanying drawings. Further objects of my` inventionl will be hereinafter disclosed in connectionwith the detailed description of my preferred form of construction.y 1

In the preferred form of' construction embodying my invention l employ "a supporti ing member l having a threaded'recess 2 to receive a threaded stud of an overhead support to which the, device is secured. Having brought the clamping members into alinement with thek trolley conductor the jaws'ai'e spread apart as `shown in Fig. 5. and .the trolley conductor insertedbetween the Alips 12--12 and the clamping members .i5-f8 are then moved into engagement with the trolley conductor byrotating the memb er loin theproper direction to move .the lips toward each other. A conductor holder comprising means to grip a conductor, supporting means hav ing a limited rotative movement relative to the gripping means, means to secure the supporting means to a hanger, means to rotate the supporting means into engagement with a hanger when the gripping means is rotated and permitting reverse rotation ot the gripping means without rotating `the supporting means and means mounted on the supporting means and movable aXlally thereof to engage the gripping means and move it into engagement with the conductor.

A conductor holder comprising a supporting member, means to secure the member to a hanger, clamping means to engage and support a conductor and having a tul-V crum engagement with the supporting member, an operating member movable relative to the supporting member and clamping means when rotated relative to the supporting member and the clamping means to move the operating member into and out of engagement with the clamping means to operate the clamping means, means on the clamping means to engage means on the supporting means to prevent the disengagement of the clamping means, and means interposed between the operating member and supporting member after assembly of the parts to maintain the parte against separation.

A conductor holder comprising a supporting member and means to secure the member to a hanger, clamping means to grip a conductor and having a limited relative rotation in either direction with respect to the member andarranged to move towards and away from the conductor and means on the supportingv member to limit` gripping means away y the movement of the from the conductor.

A conductor holder comprising a supporting member, means to secure the member to a hanger, clamping means rotatablymounted directly on the member f and movable into clamping engagement with a conductor, means rotatably mounted on the supporting member to move the clamping means into engagement with thefoonductor when rotated inone direction andto move away from the clamping` member and permit the clamping meansto release the conductor when rotated in the othery direction, means to limit the movement oit the rotatable means away from the clamping means and means to limit the amount of rotation of the clamping means relative to the supporting member. j

A conductor holder comprising a supporting member, means to secure the member .to a hanger, clamping means rotatablyI mounted directly on the member and movable into clamping engagement with a conductor, means rotatably mounted on the supporting member to move the clamping means into engagement with the conductor when rotated in one direction and to move'away from the-clamping member and permit the clamping lmeans to release the conductor when rotatedin the other direction.

A conductor holder comprising clamping means to grip a conductor, supporting means having a relativerotative movement with respect to the clamping means, means to limitthe relative rotative movementro tatable means to force the clamping means into a holding eng-agement with the conductor and means to 'secure the holder to ai hanger. v

A conductor holder comprising clamping members provided with inwardly projecting lianges, avmember provided with an annular groove in which is rotatively positioned the projecting flanges on the clamping members, means to limit the amount of rotation, and rotatable means to engage the clamping members and force them into engagement with a conductor.

A conductor holder comprising clamping members provided with inwardly projecting anges, a member provided with an annular groove in which is rotatively mounted the projecting members,A means-associated with the above memberseoacting together to hold the clamping' members in said an-` nular groove, and rotatable meansto engage the clamping members and force them into engagement with a conductor.
20, A conductor holder comprising a supporting member, a pair of independently acting clamping members ulcrumed on the support, an operating member movably mounted on the supporting member to engage and force thev clamping members into clamping engagement with aconductor, retaining means on the clamping members c0- acting n' ith retaining means on the supporting member to prevent dislodgement of the clamping members from the supporting members and means to limit the amountot movement of the operating member in a Vdirection away from the clamping members.

A conductor holder comprising a supporting member having means to secure the holder to a hanger, a pair ,of clamping members mounted on the support, means integrally formed with the supporting*member to engage means integrally formed with the clamping members to retain them on the vsupport and means to move the clamping members into engagement with a conductor.

A conductor holder comprisinga supporting member having means to secure the holder to a hanger, a pairofclamping members mounted on the support and havinga sliding ulcrum and. a substantially fixed ulcrum therewith, means on the supporting member to engage the clamping members to retain themy on the support and means mounted on the support member to move the clamping members into engagement with a conductor.

A conductor holder comprising a supporting member and means to secure the holder to a hanger.y a pair of clamping members to grip a conductor and mounted on the supporting member, means on the supporting member to engage the upper end of the clamping members to prevent their dislodgement from the supporting member when moved in a line at right angles to the normal vertical axis or" the supporting member and l means to move theelampingmember into engagement with the conductor.
