The present invention relates to improvements in coal chutes and the principal ob ject is'to provide a device of the character described adapted tofbe y' positioned ,in an opening inthebasement wall, the saidcoal chutes adapted tobe adjustable sov thatthe coal thrown in the chutes may be directed to anydesired location* Withthese and other objects in; view, the
invention. consists in the construction, 1 com bination and arrangement ofparts as will be hereinafter fully described; illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claims hereunto appended.

The upper peripheries 10 of the side members 9 are arcuate to permit opening and closing of the bodymember7.- The chutes H 1,1 and 12 arehingedly mounted on the upwardly extending ro'd 13.
