, 1,457,188 E. w. ROGERS MULTIPLE HOLE TOP FOR BURNER STOVES Filed April 30 1921 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 3o with the slde walls of the number of utensils may be Lheated by means of a single burner, the number being restrict-A ed only by the number of openings in the top of the stove extending over and closing the burner chamber.
ln the event of the stove embodying more than one burnerx2 the chamber will be sub-divided by partitions 8 to form compartments 9, one compartment for each of the burners. That portion of the stove top 3 extending over and closing each of the compartments 9 will be provided with openings 6, the openings 6' aligning vertically with the burners 2 tted in openings formed in the bottom of the respective compartments., This provides for the utilization of anyone of the burner compartments 9 when it is required to light one burner only. lt is noted that the top 3 and burner chamber are essential parts of the stove and are not adjunctive thereto andincrease the range of usefulness of burner stoves and prevent the waste of fuel since a number of utensils may be-eectively heated from a single burner.
To prevent, air currents or drafts from interfering with the action of the burners and the burner chambers associated therewith, windshields 10 and l1 are provided and are preferably detachably connected burner chamber. The windshield 10 is disposed relatively in the rear of the burner chamberdand comentarles l prises end wings l2 which extend along the end walls of the chamber t. The relatively front windshield l1 is attached to the front wall of the burner chamber 4 and the windshields have their lower portions projecting belowv the bottom of the burnerchainber 4 a suicient distance to e'ectively prevent draft and currents of air from interferin with the action of the burners., rlhe win shields are preferably detachable to admit of their removal when required.
Having thus described the invention, what ln combination with a stove having a top, an upstanding burner at a distance below the top, a casing depending from said top havinga bottom wall and an outwardly extendin marginal flange at the upper edge secured to the under surface of the top, said casing having an opening in its bottom Wall through which said burner extends, the burner terminating-short of the top, said top having a plurality of out'let openings, and a windshield surrounding said casing and depending below the same and about the burner. 1
