Application filed August 31, 1922.
T 0 @ZZ Iw hom t may con-cem Be it known that l, Cinisi citizen of the United States, res New Hampton, in the county of and @tate of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cheeklad Holders, of which the following` is a specification.
This invention relates to check pad racks, and has` for its object to provide a rack of such class, inthe manner as hereinafter set forth, with means for racking, holdingand displaying a series of pads of checks of different financial institutions, so that one can readily ascertain and remove from a pad the check desired when occasion so requires, and although tie invention is despgned primarily for racking, holding-g and displaying a series of pads of checks, yet it is toV be understood that the device can be employed for any purposes wherein it is found applicable. v
Further objects of the invention are to provide a check pad rack which is simple in its .construction and v.arrangement, strong, durable, compact, efficient and convenient in its use, readily assembled and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture.
lith the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as hereinafter more specifically described, and illustrated in the accompanying; drawings, wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be 'resorted to, which fall within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.
In the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding' part-s throughout the several views Figure l is a perspective view of a check iad rack in accordance with this invention.
Fig. 2 is a vert-ical sectional view thereof.
Fig'. 3 is a front elevation of a modified form.
Referring; to Figs. l and 2 of the drawings, a check pad rack, in accordance with this invention comprises a vertically disposed rectangular body portion l, formed of metallic material, and which has the side and end edges thereof, outwardly beaded, as at 2.
Secured to the outer face of the body portion l, is a series of spaced pad holding members, and each of said members con- Serial No. 585,486.
portion projects holding at 5, at the point of joinder between the saine and the body portion 8, to increase the resiliency sists of a polygonalshaped body 3, from the outer side of which an upwardly einending` resilient arm d, the latter being inset, as
ofl the holding arm. fach of the upper corners of the holdingv arm, is cut away or rather beveled as at 6. Secured to the outer face of the body portion l, at the upper portionvthereof, and above the upper holdino;l member, isy a transversely extending polygonal shaped stop member 7, which is of the same contour as the bottoni or base of a holding member. The bottom or base 3, of each of the upper holding members constitutes a stop bar and performs the samel function as the bari". The bar 7, as well as the base 3 of each upper holding, member, arrests upward movement of the pad of checks 8',r when mounted in position on holdingmember, that is tovsay, the said bar 7, as well as the base 3 of each upper holding member,.provide for the positioning of the lpads 8 on the holding member and if an attempt is made to shift the pad upwardly, the said arm 7, as well as the base 3 of the upper holding members, will arrest movement of the pad.
The base of the pad of cheeks, is indicated at 9, and when the pad 8 is mounted in position, the erm 4: of each of the holding' members is interposed between the outer face of the base 9 and the rear of the checks of the pad. By this arrangement the major portion of each of the pads 8 projects outwardly from a holdingy member and under such conditions a check canv be conveniently torn off from the pad, when occasion so requires.
In the modified form shown in Fig'. 3, a series of racks, constructed in the same manner as heretofore referred to, and indicated at l0, 11., and l2, are hingedtogether as at 13. Otherwise, than as stated, the modified form shown in Fig. 3 is the same as that referred to in connection with Figs. l and 2.
The foree'oine' construction of check pad racks provides for the convenient holding; and display/vino; of a series of pads of checks of different institutions, and furthermore enables one to readily ascertain the checkv which is required and also provides for the convenient removing of the check from a pad when desired.
joinder with said base.
What l claim isi f l, A check pad rack comprising a body portion, and a series of spaced pad holding members secured to theouter face thereof and each consisting of a polygonal shaped base and a holdingarin projectingupwardly therefrom, said arm inset at its point of 2. A check pad rack comprising a body portion, anda series of spaced pad holding members secured to the outer face thereof and each consisting of a polygonal shaped base and a holding arm projecting upwardly 'therefromp said arm inset at itspoint of yjoinderl with said base, said holding vniembers `arranged in superposed relation, and a stop bar secured' to the outer face l,of `said body portion andy spaced above the upper 'of said holding members.
3. A check pad rack comprising a body portion, and a series of spaced superposed holding members extending transversely of and secured to the outer face of said body portion, each of said holding members consisting of a polygonalvshaped hase and a holdingv armprojecting upwardly from the outer side of said base and inset at the point o f joinder with the base.
4c. A check-'pad raclr comprising a body portion, and a series of spaced superposed holding members extending transversely of and secured to the outer face lof. said body portion, each ofsaid holding members con-A sistingof a polygonal shapedba'se and a holding arm projecting upwardly from the outer side of said base and inset at the point of joinder with the base, and a. transversely extending stop barfsecuredr to the outer face of said body portion and' arranged above the upper of said holding members.
5. A check vpad rack comprising a body portion, and a series of spaced and super-` posed holding members extending trans-V versely of and secured to the outery face thereof, and each consisting of a` polygonal shaped base having theinner side secured to the body portion and further including a vertically disposed holding arm projecting upwardly from the outer side ofthe base 'i with fthe base, and a transversely extendingl stop bar secured to thev outer. face of said body portionand arranged above the upper of said holding members. i
