Aimmi Vanauo, watchmaker, a citizen of France, residing at Vesenaz, near Geneva, Canton of Gene a, in the Confederation of Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Time Indicators (for which I have filed applications in Switzerland March 29. Apr. 29, 1919, and Get. 29. 1.919), of which the following is a specification.
This invention has for its object time indicator or the type in which a lllfll'tlQlQ dial hearing chronometric indications arranged circularly moves always in the same direction under a fixed dial having at least one opening in it, and this application is a division of my copending application, Serial. No. 402,920, filed August 11 1920, vtor Le;- ters Patent for an improvement in time indicators.
This invention is represented. in the accompanying drawings which show as examples thereof, several constructional forms. all adapted to already known sizes of watches. clocks or alarms.

The ring 5 is still in engagement c mstantly with cylinder escapement device 9 which is mminted 'treely with a wheel with which it is integral. on a carrier screw 9 likewise screwed into the plate 1. This wheel fig-ears with an intermediate wheel 11. mounted freely on a carrier screw which gears with the cannon pinion 5 mountet trictionally on the shaft of the main pinion.
The ratios of gearing are so arranged that the cannon pinion 5 which makes one complete revolution per hour; may cause the cylinder esc: pement g to make during the same time halt a revolution on itself and alwavs in the same direction. This escapement device 9 has two notches g and g arranged diametrically at difi'erent levels 0pposite ti 1. teeth ;7 and z of the ring I).

The working of this constructional form is as follows:
As long as the ring I) is locked l' y the escapement device g, the solid part of the cylinder being between two consecutive teeth of the ring; that is to say, during 59 minutes 5 seconds, the spring compressed. by the wheel (2 driven by the cannon pinion 5.
As soon however as one of the notches g comes opposite the corresponding teeth 1/ or or the ring, this latter being subjected to the motive force stored up by the spring 7' by the medium of the pin disc (Z, the escape of a single tooth y or .2 is produced, which allows ol? the rotation on itself of the ring by th of a revolution.
Tn the second constructional term (shown in Figs. 8 to 10) the ring b carrying two series of teeth 11 and at two dilferent levels, rolls, by means of six rollers c which it carries on its rear face in a groove of circular shape made in the plate 1 of the watch.
The wheel 9" integral with the escapement device g gears in this form with the minute wheel 6, and the cylinder 9 rotates on the one hand in a hollow in the plate 1 ol the watch and on the other hand in a bridge ll which covers the minute wheelwork.
The wheel (1 wh ch drives the ring: carrics six pins instead of tour and is actuated by a wheel '27 mounted freely on the cannon pinion. The spring f is fixed at one of its ends to this wheel 1 and at the other end to the cannon wheel 8. The worlq ngr is the same in the pr ceding form.

In a time indicator and in combination with a casing and a motor mechanism, a fixed dial having an opening therein, a revoluble dial having chronometric indications thereon visible through the opening in the fixed dial, a cannon pinion, a cylinder escapelnent for the revoluble dial, a gear driven by the cannon pinion, a disk, means for yieldingly connecting the said disk to the said gear, and devices causing the said disk to cooperate with the said revoluble dial to move the same a predetermined portion of a revolution When the revoluble dial is released by the said cylinder escapement.
5. In a time indicator and in combination With a casing and a motor mechanism, a fixed dial having an opening therein. a revoluble dial having chronometric indications thereon visible through the opening in the fixed dial, a cannon pinion, a cylinder escapement for the revoluble dial, a gear driven by the cannon pinion, a disk, a spring connecting the said gear and disk, and a plurality of pins extending from the said disk and adapted to engage with a series of internal teeth on the said revoluble dial to turn the same a predetermined portion of a revolution When the revoluble dial is released by the cylinder escapement.
6. In a time indicator and in combination with a casing and a motor mechanism, a fixed dial having an opening therein, a revoluble dial having chronometric indications thereon visible through the opening in the fixed dial, a cannon pinion, a cylinder escapement including a barrel having oppositely disposed recesses therein for the passage of staggered teeth on the revoluble dial whereby the revoluble dial is fixed except when the barrel is in position to permit the said teeth to pass through the said recesses, means tor operating the said cylinder escapen'ient from the cannon pinion, and de vices also operated from the cannon pinion for turning the said revoluble dial a pre determined portion of a revolution when the same is released by the said cylinder escapement.
7. In a time indicator and in combination with a casing and a motor mechanism, a fixed dial having an opening therein. a revoluble dialhaving chronometric indications thereon visible through the opening in the fixed dial, a cannon pinion, an arbor, a gear mounted on the arbor, an intermediate gear meshing with the aforesaid gear and the cannon pinion, a barrel also mounted on the said arborand having oppositely disposed recesses therein for the passage of sets of staggered teeth on the said revoluble dial, and devices also operated by the cannon pinion "tor turning the movable dial a predetermined portion of a revolution when the said barrel is in position to permit the teeth to pass through the said recesses therein.

In a time indicator and in combination with casing and a motor mechanism, a fixed dial having openings therein, a revoluble dial having chronometric indications thereon visible through one of the openings in the fixed dial, a revoluble ring also having chronometric indications thereon visible through another opening in the fixed dial, a cannon pinion, a cylinder escapement for simultaneously permitting the movement of the revoluble dial and the revoluble ring, and means also operated by the cannon pinion for simultaneously turning the revoluble dial and revoluble ring a predetermined. portion. of a revolution when released by the said escnpemeut.
