To all whom it may concern:
.Be it known that I, VICTOR D. LESPINASSE,
a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful attachingsaid testicle to the back into a cord which can beeasily cut and the testicle removed.
I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a view in perspective of the instrument being manipulated with atestiole attached thereto; and Fig. 2 is a View in perspective of the instrument alone.
Similar letters of reference refer to similar parts throughout the several, views.
-The instrument comprises a handle (a, which may be made of metal or other suitable material, at one end of which a loop or eye Z) is formed, of suitable size to pass over the testicle of the bird. I have shown this eye I) as formed by making one end of the instrument of twisted wires 0 andd, made onto or attached to the handle a, which wires '0 and (Z are spread apart to form said Extending from the eye Z) and 7 vessels attached to the testicle through itand hold the testicle firmly while it is bev ingtwisted. This slot 6 may be conveniently formed as illustrated, i. e., by having it formed of the same wires 0 and d, which are attached to the handle a and spread to form the eye I).
To assist in the manipulation of the instrument I have found it better to have the plane of thepart bearing the slot 6 formed at an angle,preferably a right angle, to the plane of the partbearing the eye 6, but this is notessential.
The method of operation of the instrument is as follows: The bird is bound and held, an incision made between its last two ribs, the edges of the cut spread and access to the testicles obtained in the customary manner.
