coin cases and y.more particularly to those of small compact size to be conveniently carried in the users pocket, and the principal object of the invention is to provide an extremely simple and inexpensive, yet a highly desirable coin carrying device by means of which a number of coins of the same denomination may be conveniently carried and discharged one 4at a time for use, simply by turning a disk or like form of coin delivery device. e
In the preferred form of my invention,
f a relatively thick disk is iixedly mounted in a shallow casing and is formed with a plurality of openings to contain stacks 4of coins,
the coin-delivery disk being interposed between the other disk or coin magazine and the bottom of the casing andhaving its edge accessible at a cut-away portion of the casing, so that it may readily be turned, another object of the invention being to provide novel means for holding this disk against accidental rotation.
In order that the magazine may be conveniently lled with coins, the casing is pref,- erably provided with a cover platey having an opening adapted to be successively registered with the openings of the magazine disk, and a further aim of theinvention is to provide a single device carriedby the casing for holding this cover plate andl the coin delivery disk against turning except l when required.
With the foregoing and minor objects in view, the invention resides-in the novel subject matter hereinafter described` and claimed, the descriptive matter being supplemented by the accompanying drawing.
Figure l is a perspective viewof a coin carrier constructed in accordance with my invention` Figures 2 and 3 are transverse sectional views as indicated by lines 2 2 and 3 3 respectively of Fig. l.
l'Figure 4 is a 'disassembled yperspective View showing the casing, the coin delivery disk, the magazine disk and the vcover plate in juxtaposition. y y i f Fk'gurey 5 is'an edge view showingadifferent form of lcover plate whichv may loev 1 used in lieu of the plate above referred to.
In the drawings above briefly described,
the numeral 1 designates a shallow casing which is ofsubstantially circular form although it is partially rcut away asindicated at 2, for a purpose to appear. Within the casing l is a comparatively thick magazine diskv having a plurality of vertical open` ings 4 to receive stacks of coins. The disk 3 is spaced above the bottom of thecasing 1 a distance equal tothe thickness'of lone ofthe coins tobecontainedby the openings 4 and this disk lis secured in this position by any suitable means such as screws passing through the wall ofthe casing intosaid disk. The space' between` the disk `3 and the bottomcf the casing is occupied by a coinidelivery disk 6 having aplura-lity of openings Tinto' which the coins are adapted ltodrop lone at va time fromthe openings 4, so that when said delivery disk ,is turned tothe vproper extent, va coin willi'be moved to the cut-away portion 2 of the casing and dropped therethrough', The .edge` -of the disk 6 is suitably roughened as indicated at 8 andy a portion 'ofthe magazine disk is preferably cut awayas indicated at 9 at the cut-away portion of the casing, in order that said roughened edge may be more accessible for turning the disk.
Resting rotatably upon the edge of the casing l and the magazine disk 3, isa-cover plate 10l which is held in place by a central bolt or .otherV fastener 11 which extendsy through the disk, through the ycasing bottom, and through the. intervening parts. The cover plate 10 is forniedwith a coin entrance opening 12 which normally overlies an imperforate portion ofthe magazine disk 3 as shown in Fig. 3, but by turningthe plate 10, the opening l2 may be successively alined with the yopenings 4,so that the latter maybe lledwith coins.
In order tohold the coin delivery disk 6 and the cover ,plate 10 against accidental' ro'- tation, I Vprovide any suitable means such as a single U-shaped spring metal clip 1 3 which is carried by the ycasing and is by preference pivoted thereto as indicated at 14. When this clip is swung outwardly from the positiongshown infliiglVv both` disks are freeto krotate but when the clip is in operative position, said disks are' Yheld against accidental turning.
