IMPROVEMENT IN FIRE-EXTINGUISHING WATER-PIPE ATTACHMENTSFOR BUILDINGS.
I Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 144,690, dated November 18, 1873; application filed r May 24, 1873.
To allwhom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS MILLER, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Fire-Extinguish ing Water-Pipe Attachment for Buildings, of which the following is a specication:
The invention consists in attaching climbing-pins to the standing pipe of a building, as hereinafter described.
Figure l is a 'sectional elevation of a building and side elevation of my improved waterpipe attachment. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional elevation of a portion of the pipe, showing the application of the climbing-pins', and Fig. 3 is a side elevationlof a portion of the standing pipe, showing a different inode of attaching the climbing-pins.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new anddesire to secure by Letters Patent- The standing pipe of aine-extinguishing attachment to buildings, provided with climbing-pins J, and thus made available for a ireescape, substantially as speciied.
