Be it known that I, Axror; Srmim, a

' citizen of the United States, residing at Orland, in the county of Glenn and State of California, have. invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stoves, of which the followingis a specification.

This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in stoves, and has palticula-r reference to stoves of the camp type especially designed for field use for burning of wood either for heating or cooking purposes.

One of the objects of the invention has reference to a novel type of grate which is removable from the stove and a series of baltle walls to Cause the smoke and heated air to. travel in a tortuous path within the body of the stove.

The invention further embodies in a stove of the camp. type, bracket arms of wire formation secured thereto to provide hangers for dryingartic-les or wood tobe burned.

lVith the above and other general objects in view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of the parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the appended claim.

Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawings, there is illustrated a stove or" the camp type embodying a bottom wall 1 and an oval shaped side wall 2 having a front end 3 and'a rear end 4. The rear end 4 is provided with a smoke pipe 5 positioned adjacent the lower end thereof as shown in Figs. 2' and 5, the smoke outlet pipe 5 being supported by the strap hanger 6 secured as at 7 to the rear wall l of the stove. Sup-porting feet 8 are anchored by bolts 9 to the bottom wall 1 of the stove shown in 4t and 5. while the top wall 10 carries a sectional lid covering ll overlying the tire pot 12.

As shown more clearly in Figs. 3 and. 5, a vertical partition 13 extends transversely ot the interior of the stove, contacting the side walls and bottom wall 1, the upper edge of the partition. 13 terminating at a. point spaced below the top wall 10 to provide a passage (6. The ash tray is slidably disposed within the stove casing beneath the grate la, the same embodyin a bottom wall 21, an arm 22 as shown in l iglo, to hold the ash tray elevated in position directly beneath the grate, the front wall 2 of the ash tray carrying a handle 23 to permit removal thereof.

A pair of battle plates is interposed between the partition 13 and the rear wall t, to cause the products of combustion to travel in a tortuous path in escaping through outlet pipe 5, one of the bafiles being shown in Fig. 10 embodying a perpendicular plate2l, perpendicular edge flanges 25 provided upon the lower ends thereof with feet 26, the up per edge 24 of the battle plate 24 engaging the stove top 10 as shown in Fig. 5 with the feet 26 resting upon the bottom wall 1 of the stove to form a passage 6 below the edge of thebafiie plate and the bottom wall 1 of the stove. wall 27 carrying side flanges 28 and a centrally positioned perpendicular extension 29 on the upper edge thereof, the lower edge of the battle plate. 27 resting upon the bottom wall of the stove while'the upper edge of the plate extension 29 engages the top wall 10, providing lateral passages 0 at the upper end of the baffle plate 27 as clearly shown in Figs. 6 and 9.

\Vhile there is herein shown the preferred embodiment of my invention itis nevertheless to be understood that various forms, modificationsand arrangements of the parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
