To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that T, FRED WILLIS GUNN, .a citizen of the United States of America, residin at Boston, in the county 'of Suffolk and gtate of Massachusetts, have invented new and useful Improvements in Hose- Clamping Tools, of which thefollowing is a specification. 1 This invention relates to tools for applying metallic strips, bands or wires in clamping relation, and 'while having other and more general fields of usefulness is particularly adapted and designed for securing flexible hose to pipes, couplings and the like. A principal object of the invention is to providea tool of this character wherein provision is made for first drawing the metallic band or'wire taut, then bending the same back preferably without requirin any bodily movement of the tool, to make t e coupling ering the band or wire. A further object is to provide a hose clamping tool of compact construction with few parts that are strong and reliable in use, The foregoing and other objects and advantages of the invention will more fully appear from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, and the distinctive features of novelty will be pointed out in the appended vclaims. A block 15 is located between the cheek portions 10 and mounted to turn upon the pin 11. This block has a passage 16 through its front'portion adapted in one position of the block to receive the hose clamping band or wire. This block is equipped with a pin 17 adjacent the top thereof which is engaged by a draw-bar 18 extending outwardly through the body of the tool and engaged at its other end with a pin 19 borne at the outer'end of a short arm The arm 20 which is located between the cheek portions 10 is mounted to turn with a stout the outer end of the tool body and equipped at an outer projecting end thereof-with a squared head 22. A pin 23 is fitted for turning movement transversely in the body a small distance outward from thepin 11 and has at one end a squared projecting head 24. This pin hasa transverse passage 25 there through adapted to register with the passages 14, 16 yvhen the parts are turned" to the positions shown in Figure 2, and to then receive the extremity B of the clamping band therethrough. Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A hose clamping tool comprising a body theclamping band taut, and means for oscillating said head in the body to bend the.
clamping band for the purpose stated.
2. hose clamping tool comprising a body, a pivot pin at one end of the body, a head mounted upon the pivot pin, said head and pin having passages therethrough to receive a clamping bandor wire, means for oscillating" said head, meant? restraining the oscillation of said pin aftera predetermined movement thereof, whereby to sever the clamping band, and means for preliminarily drawing the clamping band taut through saidpassages. r p 3. A) hose clamping tool comprising a body, a pivot pin at one end of the body, a head mounted upon the pivot pin, said pin and said'head having passages therethrough to receive a clamping band, and said pin mounted for limited turning. movement,
' means for oscillating said headto first bend the band and thenby co-operation with said pin to sever the same, said means having a connection operable at the end of the body opposite said head, and means for preliminarily drawing the band taut through said passages of said pin and head.
4. A hoseclamping tool comprising "an elongated body, a pin mounted for limited turning movement at one end thereof, a head mounted to turn. upon said pin, said head and said pin having passages therethrough, registering in one position to receive a clamping band or wire therethrough, a second pin mounted in the body equipped to engage the extremity of the clamping band to draw the same taut, and means for oscillating said head to first bend' the clamping band and-then to sever the same by cooperation with said pin.
5. A- hose clamping tool comprising a body, a bending means for a'clamping band or wire and provided with means for cutting said band or wire, means for drawing "the clamping band or wire taut, a pivotal mounting forthe bending and cutting means cooperating ,with the cutting means of the bending means for shearing the wire, and means for severing the band .or wire. from the drawing means. V
6. A hose clamping tool, comprising a body, a bending means for a clamping band or wire, means for drawing said clamp ng bandlor wire taut, and means cooperating with the bending means for cutting the clamping band or wire, cooperating cuttlng means-having a-simultaneous rotary movement during a portion of the rotary movement of the bending means, and means for causing simultaneous rotation of the cooperating cutting means and the bending means, said, means adapted to continue rotation of the bending means after the cooperating cutting means has been checked in its rotary movement.
7 A hose clamping tool, comprising a body, a bending means for a clamping band or wire, means for holding the clamping band or wire, means for rotating the bending means on the holding means, and means on the bending means cooperating with the holding means .for shearing the wire when the bending means is rotated relative to the holding means.

A hose clamping tool, comprising a body, a bending means forclamping liand or wire rotatableon the body, means cooperating with the bending means for cutting the clamping band, said last mentioned means comprising a pivotal mounting for the bending means, means for-rotating the bending means, said pivotal means being rotatable with the bending means, andme'ans for limiting the rotary movement of the pivotal means while the bending means continues means while the bending means continues its rotary movement, and means for drawing the clamping band or wire taut.
10. A. hose clamping tool, com rising an elongated body, a pin mounted 'or limited turning movement at one end thereof, a head mounted to turn upon said pin, said head and pin being provided with passages therethrough registering in one position to receive a clamping band or wire, a second pin mounted in the body and provided with a passage adapted to receive the end of the clamping band and rotatable for drawing the clamping band taut, an arm connected with the first mentioned pin'and rotatable therewith, a lug on the body projecting into the path of the oscillating arm for limiting the movement of the arm and pin, and means for oscillating the head to first bend the clamping bandand rotate both the head and the first mentioned pin, said oscillating arm adapted to engage the lug in its path for preventing rotation of the pin whereby a continued rotation of the head causes severin of the clamping band.
