IMPROVEMENT IN LININGS FOR HORSE-COLLARS, &,c
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 143,987, dated October 28, 1873; application tiled July 24,1%.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that We, Isaac LINDSLEY and JOHN MACKINTOSH, of Pawtucket,in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented certain Improvements in Harness and Equipments for Horses and other Animals, of which the following' is a specification:
Our said invention relates to a newT lining for the various articles of harness and equipments for horses and other animals; and consists of making said lining from and out of non felting hair, or `substantial imitations thereof, prepared substantially as hereinafter described.

The said non-felting hair, curled or uncurled, andthe said substantial imitations thereof, may be prepared substantially as described in our Letters Patent of the United States, numbered 124,598, and dated the 12th day of March, A. D. 1872; or said non-felting hair, curled or uncurled, and the said substantial imitations thereof, may be simply moistened and pressed into sheets or other required shapes, said press ing being either hot, Warm, or cold, and the substances aforesaid being either Wet, moist, or* dry before or during said pressing.
These sheets of non-felting hair, and the said substantial imitations thereof, prepared substantially as aforesaid, are to be cut to the required shape, and stitched or otherwise fastened on, or secured to, a back of cloth, leather, or other suitable material. In this condition it is easily applied to, or used with, the different articles of harness, or parts thereof, by any of the well-known methods, the back aforesaid being attached to the parts of the harness or equipments requiring the lining.
What We claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
Linings of harness and other equipments for horses and other animals, made of the materials and in the manner substantially as described.
