IMPRovEMENT IN NAME-PLATES FOR sTovEs.

To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that Lvl-mmrl KLorz, of the city and county of Baltimore and State of Maryland, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Name-Plates for Stoves; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which- Figure l is a front elevation of a supplemental plate to be attached to a stove, with the name-plate connected therewith. Fig. 2 is a similar view of a 'supplemental plate, with the name-plate detached 5 and Fig. 3 is a bottom view of the name-plate.-

My invention consists-in the employment of two or more lugs or hooks attached to the rear face of the name-plate, the ends of which are bent down and made to enter corresponding perforations in the supplemental plate attached to the stove, by which construction the nameplate may readily be attached to the supplemental plate, or detached therefrom when desired.
In the accompanying drawings,a is a supplemental plate, attached. to a stove where desired, for the reception of the name-plate. b I) are openings or perforations, preferably made at the ends of the plane surface c of the supplemental plate. d is the name-plate, having the name of the stove on its front surface or tace, which may, if desired, be silvered or made of open-work, with mica interposed to cover y the openings, or with the" letters showing opaque upon an illuminated ground, or otherwise ornamented, and which can be conveniently replaced, if injured. e c are lugs or hooks on the rear side of the name-plate, which are slightly bent down and made somewhat ing the latter from the openings. It is obvious that more than two lugs or hooks, with corresponding openings in the supplemental plate, may be employed without departing from my invention 5 but I prefer to use two lugs or hooks and two openings, as above described.
In case the name-plate should be broken or injured, I can readily replace it with another by my construction.
It is obvious, also, that in lieu of detachably connecting the name-plate to the supplemental plate, it may be attached removably to the stove itself.
I claim as my invention- The supplemental plate a, attached to a stove and provided with openings b b, in combination with the name-plate d, having the lugs c e on its rear face, substantially as described,
and for the purpose set forth.
