My invention relates to an. improved article of manufacture; and consists in a package of sealing-wax prepared in an economic and coni'enient shape for the trade, and designed more especially for sealing-wax used in sealing fruit, &c.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a view of the package, and Fig. 2 a View of the same in cross-section, in which- Ais the box; B, the sealing-wax; and G, the cover of the box. p
I take an ordinary box, of paper fabric'or other similar material, of any desired shape, which is made to hold a specified weight of the sealing compound-as, for instance, one-half pound, one pound, &c. I then take the wax in a melted state and turn intirthe-box until it is filled to the .top. The wax will, in cooling,
solidify and adhere firmly to the sides of the box. I then place a cox'er on the box, and on. the cover, I place a printed label containing directions how touse, 8:0. This cover may,'it' desired, be placed on before the wax has cooled, so as to adhere firmly; and the cover may be placed on the end of the box instead of on the side, as shown.
To use the wax, cut away the box at the end, so as to expose a portioinof the wax, and melt the same oif with a hot iron directly upon the jaror can.
The cover, if at the end of the box, ran-he replaced as fast as the box is cut away.
What I claim is- As anarticle of manufacture, the within-dcscribed sealing-wax package, composed of the box A, wax B, which has been poured in a melted state into the box, and permitted to harden therein and adhere to the sides thereof, and the cover 0, substantially as described and shown.
