Be it known that we, HARRY Fnnen and Anrrroivv lVo-or-zrnnn, citizens of the United fit-ates, and residents of Milwaukee, in the county of liiilwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented new and usetul improve-- ments in Record Cabinets, "of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which are a t of this specification.

One of the objects of the invention is to provide a record cabinet in which. only one record can be taken out from the cabinet at a time.

it further object of the invention is to pro vide a revoluble record holder adapted to be mounted in a compartment in the phonegraph cabinet with the records radially disposed in holder, and simple mechanism for moving a record to a position for removal from the cabinet.

A further object of the invention is to provioe an indicator operable in conjunction with the record holder to indicate which record is in position for removal from the cabinet. A

The record holder includes a pair of spaced disks 8 and 9 secured together by bolts 10, the upper disk 8 being mounted on a post 11 journalled at its lower end on a bearing 12 The disk 8 is provided with a plurality of radiall disposed grooves 13 and the annular c isks 9 with radially disposed grooves 14 terminating in pockets 15. A gear 19 is mounted on the top of the holder and meshes with a segmental rack 20 carried by a lever 21 pivoted at 22 and having a handle 23 projecting through a slot 24 in the face of the compartment within reach of the operator. By oscillating the lever 21 the record holder is caused to turn and in this manner the holder is turned to bring the desired record in line with the slot 17.

The particular record in position for delivery is ascertained by means of an indicator including a vertically movable pointer and cooperating with lists of the names 30 which carries a gear 31 adapted to mesh so with pins 32 projecting from the disk 9 so that as the record holder is revolved the rod 27 is moved longitudinally and the pointer 25 is moved thereby to a position opposite the name of the selection on the record then in a position for removal from the compartment.

disk 37 and link 38, cause the disks 34 to move upwardly to receive the edge of the record between them and to roll said record from its pocket 15 and move it to a position where it projects slightly through the slot 17, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 2, in which position it may be readily with drawn from the compartment. The disk 9 is of annular shape and the finger 33 with its associated parts is disposed within the cenconnections above described, release the head from engagement with the pins 32.

From the "foregoing description it will be observed that any particulaar record maybe delivered to a position for removal.

What we claim as our invention is:

1. A recorc storing device comprising a cabinet, a record holder in said. cabinet having radially extending record racks, means for rotating said holder, a finger wholly within the cabinet engageable with the edge of any record to advance it for removal from the cabinet, said holder having an opening therein to permit operation of said finger and a push button exterior of the cabinet operatively connected to said "finger.

2. A record storing device comprising a cabinet, a rotatable record holder in said cabinet having radially extending record racks, means for rotating said holder, :1 finger within the cabinet having spaced bevelled disks receiving the edge of a record between them to advance it for removal from the cabinet, and a push button exterior of the cabinet operatively connected to said finger record storing device comprising a cabinet, a rotatable record holder in said cabinet having radially extending record racks, means for rotating said holder, a linger within the cabinet engageable with any record to advance it for removal from the cabinet, a push button exterior of the cabinet oper'atively connected to said finger, and means distinct from said finger also associated with said push button to maintain the holder in a stationary position while removing the record.

4E, record storing device comprising a cabinet, a rotatable record holder in said cabinet having a pivot post, an upper disk provided with radially disposed record-rec'eiving recesses, a lower annular disk promes es vided with radially disposed record-receiving recesses alined with the recesses in the upper disk, and rods connecting said disks together, finger within the cabinet operable between the post and inner edge of said lower disk to engage with the edge of any record in the holder to advance it for removal from the cabinet, and means for operating said finger.

5. A record storing device comprising a cabinet, a record. holder in said cabinet having radially extending record racks, means for rotating. said holder, a finger-"within the cabinet engageable with any record to advance it for removal from the cabinet, a brake member distinct from said. finger and engageable with the holder to maintain it in a stationary position while a record is be ins; removed, and. means for operating said finger and brake member.

6. A record storing device comprising a cabinet, a record holder in said cabinet having radially extending record racks, means for rotating said holder, said holder having a series of radially arranged spaced pins, a finger operable within an open space in the holder and engageable with any record to advance it for removal from the cabinet, a brake member engageable with adjacent pins to maintain the holder in a stationary position while a record-is being removed, and means for operating said finger and brake member.

7. A record storing device comprising a cabinet, a record holder in said cabinet having radially extending racks, means for rotating said holder, an oscillatory finger wholly within the cabinet and engageable with any record to advance it "for removal, a brake member egageable with the holder to maintain it in stationary position while a record is being removed, a'le'ver operatively connected to said finger and brake member, and a push button exterior of the cabinet operatively connected with said lever.

8. A record storing device comprising a cabinet, a rotatable record holder in said cabinet having radially extending record racks, means *for rotating said holder, said cabinet having a delivery opening, a vertically disposed rotatable teed screw, a driving connection between said shaft and said holder, and a vertically movablepointer connected to said feed screw and moved thereby, said pointer adapted to cooperate with an exposed list of records to indicate the particular record in position for removal through said opening.
