rihe primary object of my invention is to produce out of a single piece ofinaterial, which has been properly cut and creased, a box adaptedto hold various kinds `of Inaterial orinerchandise, such as candy for eX- arnple, and completely enclose the same, on the one hand, or to beopened and set up for the display of its contents, on the other hand, such box having sutlicient strength safely and securely to hold its contents, or, in other words, notbeing liable to come apart so that the contents will drop through or out of the box body., unless the same when open be turned bot'toin-side-up.

lWith reference to the blank shown in Fig. 1, it is desired to state that the full lines between sections or parts indicate cuts or slits, while the broken lines between sections or parts indicate scorings or creases.

lt will be observed that the aforesaid blank. has a generally angular formation and' is divided and partially divided or sep` arated `by slits and creases, respectively., into different sections, parts, or members which are erected, folded, and otherwise arranged to form the box and the individual elements thereof. The blank may be said to eonsistof two main sections or divisions, one including the box-body elements and indicated by the letter A, and the other containing the box-cover elements and indicated by the letter B. The blank is positioned in Fig, 1 so that the division A is vertical and the `division B `is horizontal. The division B entends to the right from the right-hand edge near the top of the division A, the two being partially separated by a vertical crease a and short slits b at the ends of said crease.

rlfhe vertical division fr comprises an intermediate vertical section 1, a horizontal upper section 2, and a horizontal lower section 3. The section is oif freni the section 1 by a horizontal slit 1- and a vertical crease 5, and said section forms a separator, spreader, or spacer for the box body. The section 3 is set off from the section 1 by horizontal slits 6 and 7 and an intervening horizontal crease 8, anda vertical slit 9 at the right-hand end of said section 3. ln line with the top and bottoni edges of the section Q/are creases 10-10 which extend to the ends of the crease a, and there are two similar lcreases 1() in line with the top and bottoni edges of the sectionl, the latter creases extending to the righthand edge of the division A `which* is below said crease a. rllhe section 1 has therein two creases 11, and ytwe other creases 1Q and 13, respectively. Beyond or above and below the two outer creases 10 the division A is extended to forni two tabs 20. The horizontal division B comprises a large section 26 and two sinaller sections 2l. The sections 2T are'set oil troni the section 23 by two horizontal parallel slits 2S, and Vertical creases Z9-29 which are in line with each other. lllXt-endii'ig between adjacent ends of the slits 2S and the creases l() that are in alignment with such slits are longitudinal or horizontal creases which are divided by and in tnrn divide a transverse or vertical crease, so that there are two longcreases 30 and two short creases Ell, and a long` crease 32,v and two short creases 813.
