The belt 19 engages with a pulley 20 mounted on the intermediate shaft 21, which is journalled in suitable bearings at the front. A driven plley 22 is keyed to the shaft 21 and is connected by a belt 28'to the drive pulley 24 on the rear driving axle of the automobile.
The pulley 20 will be controlled by suitable clutch mechanism on the shaft 21.
It will be evident by reference to Figure 2 that by having the side walls 6 converging, proper clearance will be obtained for the belt drive 19 and also for the front wheels of the automobile.
The fan casing 10 is provided With a suitable discharge conduit 25 having a folding adjustable hood 26 on the discharge end thereof, and at the front lower end of the fan casing a dividing and spreading device 27 is formed. This spreading and dividing device is a wedge shape, having lateral walls which diverge towards the rear, leaving a forward cutting edge which will divide the snow and deliver it to the lateral compartments of the casing 3.
The share 7 when in a lowered position engages with a stop member 28 projecting forwardly and below the casing 3, and the share is thus prevented from digging too deeply into the snow and blocking.
When the snow plow is not in use the share 7 is rotated around its hinges to close thelower portion of the front of the casing 3 and the share is retained in this position by clips 29.
When the snow plow is in use the motor vehicle is driven forward, and during this motion the snow plow is fed against the snow, and the fan and pulverizing members are operated. As the share 7 engages the snow, the snow is delivered to the casing 3 and engaging with the divider and spreader 27, the snow is delivered to the compartments of the casing 3 on each side of the fan.
The pulverizers 15 break up the snow and as the blades of the pulverizers areoffset they throw the snow towards the fan which is being rotated at a high speed.
The vanes 14 of the fan engage the snow and deliver it to the discharge 25 of the fan, and the snow passing through the adjustable hood 26 is delivered to the side of the road, the main portion of the road is thus easily cleared of snpw and available for traflic.
The belt pulley 16 on the shaft 12 is thoroughly protected against snow and ice which cannot interfere with the operation of the plow.
What I claim as my invention is:

The combination with a motor vehicle, of a snow plow located in front thereof and comprising a casing open at the front and having lateral compartments, bars extending rearwardly of the casing for attachment to the motor vehicle, a share hinged to the casing, a fan casing in said casing and disposed between said lateral compartments, a fanoperating in the fan casing, a fan shaft extended transversely of the direction of movement of the plow, a dividing and spreading device at the front lower end of the casing, 11c pulverizing elements operating in said compartments at the sides of the fan, means for operating the fan and the pulverizing elements, and a stop member projecting from the first-named casing to engage the share.
4. A snow plow to be used with motor vehicles, comprising a casing open at the front and having lateral compartments, a fan casing between said lateral compartments, a fan shaft extended transversely of the direction we of movement of the plow, a fan on said shaft, a wedge shaped dividing and spreadmg device at the front lower end of the fan casing, pulverizing elements on the fan shaft, a pivoted share, and means for rotating said fan shaft.
5. A snow plow to be used with motor vehlcles, comprising a casing open at the front and having lateral compartments, a fan casing between said lateral compartments, a fan shaft extended transversely of the direction of-the motor vehicle, and means to deliver 10 of movement of the plow, a fan on said the snow to the side of the road.
