invention being to provide a glove or mitten-like member of flex ible material such as fabric, and which memher is adapted to be positioned on the hand and fingers, which member is marked or decorated so as to represent clothing,-and, further, to combine with said glove or mit cipal object of m ten-like member an object shaped and. marked to represent a persons head, and the latter being provided with a recess that is. adapted to receive one of the fingers of the operators hand, and thus the clothes and head representing parts can be movedto simulate the movements of a persons head and body.

Further objects of my invention are to produce a doll or manilrin that is relatively simple in construction, capable of being easily and cheaply produced, and, further, to provide a body in the nature of a doll or toy that will afford amusement and entertainment for children.

With the fOregOing' and other objects in view, my invention consists in certain novel features of construction and arrangement of parts that will be hereinafter more fully described and. claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a front elevational view of a doll embodying my invention.

Figure 2 is a rear elevational view of the flexible body portion of the doll, and with the head thereof removed.

Figure 3 is a vertical section taken on the line 33 of Figure 2.

bular member that is composed of afront section 10, and a back section 11., the side edges of which are connected in any suitable manner, and. termed integral with the upper portions of said sections are laterally pro jecting hollow flexible members 12 that adapted to receive the thumb and a finger on the hand oft-he manipulator, and which members are intended to represent the arms of the doll or manikin.

Extending upwardly from the upper end of the tubular member formed by the sections 10 and 11, and centrally arranged between the members 12 is a flexible tubular member 1.3, that is adapted to receive the index finger on the hand of the manipulator, and said member 13 with the finger therein, is adapted to serve as a support for the head of the doll. I

The outer face of section 10 of the body representing member may be printed, stenciled or decorated to represent feminine garmerits, and the'outer surface of the rear section 11 may be printed, stenciled or decorated to represent masculine garments. The head portion 1.4; of thedoll may be formed of any suitable light weight material, such as papier-mach, celluloid, or the like, and formed therein and extending upwardly from the under side, is a recess 15 of sufficient size to receive the index finger of the manipulator.

and lying across the opening therein, is a device for retaining the head firmly on the index finger, said device being preferably in the form of a disc 16 of thin flexible material such as cardboard or celluloid, the same being provided with a centrally arranged perforation 17, and having a series of radially disposed slots 18 that extend outwardly from said central opening. The edge of this disc is embedded in the lower portion of the head 14 so that the opening 17 is centrally arranged within recess 15.

Obviously the head 14 may be shaped as desired,and marked or decorated so as to represent either a fanciful face or the features of some well known person. In the manipulation of my improved doll or manikin, the hand is inserted in the open lower,

In thus amolying the head, the sections of material in the disc 16 around the central opening 17 and between the radial slots 18, Will bend upwardly, as illustrated by the dotted lines in Figure 4:, and thus press against the index finger to firmly retain the head in position thereupon.

After the parts of the doll or manikin are thus combined and mounted upon the hand of the manipulator, the head, body and arms of the-doll or manikin can be moved in simulation of themovementsof the corresponding parts of a person, and, asa result, the moving doll or manik n Wlll prove a con siderable source of amusement and pleasure for children.

Obviously minor, changes in the size, form manikin may be made and substituted for those herein shcwn and described, ithout departing from the spirit o't my invention, the scope of Whichis set forth in the appended claims.

I claim as my invention: a

l. A doll or manikin ,con' prising a substantially tubular flexible member, the outer surfaces of which are,marked or decorated to represent Wearing apparel, one end ofsaid tubular member being providedavith a plurality. of relatively small tubular extensions adaptedto receivethe thumb and fingers of a persons hand, a member shaped and marked to represent a .persons head, and provided ivlth an aperture that 1s adapted to receive one of the fin er receivin memtherein.

2. A. doll or manikin comprising a sub stantially tubular body member formed of fieix ible material, the outer surface of which is marked or decoratedto represent Wearing apparel, said flexible bouy member having relatively small tubular extensions that are adapted to receive the thumb and certain fingers of a person s hand, a member shaped and marked to represent a head, Which member is recessedto receive one of the smaller tubular members on the body member, and a series "oft radially disposed resilient members arranged Within said recess for yieldably engaging the tubular member and the finger that are inserted therein.

3. In a doll or manikin, a head portion recessed to accommodate a finger, and a finger gripping member formed of flexible material an arranged in spanning relation to the recess, said member being formed vvlth a central opening and split radially at intervals With the split portions communicating yvith the opening.
