WATER VAPORIZER.
Serial No. 5252 E represents an electric lamp in holder l) 6, represents the iirgoing and out-going couductors to lamp E. l", represent -.i two part cover to water receptacle A. Cover l" (H) 1". is provided. on the under side thereof BROWN, a a resident and State Vaporizer, with lugs f, f, which rest (in the upper edge lowing is a specification. of water receptacle A, and said cover is also had to the drawing aeeom part hereof.
device (or relates to a cases Among the objects of the inve obtain a device of good appeara provided with a rim f, which extends downward to, or a slight distance below. the up- (13 per edge a" of water receptacle A. it will be observed that by the construction of and rim f, a passage way [or the between the walls of the water ntio nee,
when placed in a. at ar case will vaporize receptacle and the rim of the cover is eb- 7 water and discharge e vapor obtained into tained, as is indicated by the arrows said case, so as to cause said air to be an Fig. 2; while, at the same time, the conciently humid toproperly moisten cigars n tents of the device are not viewable. (J said case, and maintain them in moistened represents a flange on the upper face of part condition. An additional object is to ob- F of the cover and H represents a shade of 1s tain a vaporizer which on casual observation tion, easily cared out of order or-w.
In the drawing referred ing the invention Fig. 2 is a vertical 2-2 of Fig. 1, B-I'I'OWS- A reference character ap 'ven part indicates the several figures 0 auto a throughout ing, wherever the A represents a provided with le design the floor on ed to raise t gs a, a, he bottom a, Fig. 2,

I, I, represents an a rture in part l of the-cover; The wick hereinbetore reso terred be, extends through said aperture 1, and :8. considerable distance above it, into shade .H. .Shade H is.open atits upper end, and.J ,represents a,cross.bar;at said uper end, on. which-pivot; K is mounted rand L 35 l is a ..,n epresents-a fan which is rrotatably mounted on pivot' To 0 rate the vaporizer part F of the cover F, is removed from the water receptacle A, and water is poured into said recepacle, say to the level indicated by reference character Y, in Fig. 2. Said part F is then replaced on the receptacle and lamp E lighted. By the heat generated by said lamp, an upward (low of heated air is obtained in cylinder A, and between said lamp and that part of wick B which extends above the upper edge of said cylinder A. A [low of air is also produced into the shade H, be tween wick B and said shade. said air flow on lag between the upper edge of water receptacle A and cover F, F. as indicated by a rows X, X, and over the water in the receptacle. \rVater being contained in wick B. by capillary attraction from the water in too receptacle A, and said wick being wnrme by said lamp, said water is vaporized. and along with the heated air flowing into said shade ii. is discharged therefrom at the upper end thereof. Fan l, on the upper end of no rniit a low pivot K, as described is rapidly rotated to d cylinder. give Qcciiliir evidence of said flow from sa quantity or a given line d by said part legs being above extending Cylinbotre resents a base on 'c'e'ptac'le to above the shade. Said fan L performs no function in the operation of the device, otherthan to give evidence thereof, as stated. The quan tity of water vaporized from water receptacle A in a given time is varied by a varr ation in size of lamp E, and I have found. in practice. from one half pint to a pint of water, as desired, may be vaporized in a given time by using lamps of varying sizes. An ordinary 110 volt lam'p E, may be used, and the in-floiving and-out-flowing conduct ors maybeattaehed in the ordinary way to a lamp socket. In the opera'ti'onof the device the shade H is illumined by the lamp E.
I claim:
1. In a vaporizer, a water receptacle provided with a vertical passage 'wayarranged to permit the flow ofaihtherethrough, a lamp base positioned iii said passage Way. and-an electric lamp in said base, in combination witha- 'vi'ck on the-Wall of'said'passage way, said wick extending from said 'r'eeeptacle to above the upper'ed e-of said wall, a cover to said reeeptacle'arranged to ermit the flow of air btweensaidreceptacle and cover, an aperture in said cover and a shade over said aperture.
2. Ih a vaporizer, a water receptacle provided with a vertical assage way arranged to permit the Flow of air-therethrou'gh, a lamp base positioned ih said passage way, and tin-electric lamp in said base, in-eornbination with a Wicl air-111e, 'walI'of 'said assag'e'way, said wiekektendihfg-froih sai rewall, i'ooverto 'sii-id time table, means to pasition -said bovefon s't. d 'r'eeptacle to permit the now of-aif Btwee'nsaid cover atid'ioeptaele, a'downwardly-ektetiding rim upper edgegot said to said co er in spaced relation to the vertieal .walls of said receptacle. an aperture in said cover, and a shade of lrnnslwonl ma- .terial over said aperture.
3. In a vaporizer. a water ri-ccplaiclc pr0 vided with a vertical passage arranged to permit the flow of air tlierethrough. lamp base positioned in said passage way. and an electric lamp in said base. in combination with a wick on the wall of said passage way, said wick extending from said reeepta'cle to above the upper edge of said will, a two-part cover to said receptacle, lugs on the under side of said cover arranged 'to permit the flow of air between said receptacle and cover and to position said cover on said receptacle, and an aperture in said cover and a. shade over said aperture.
' 4. In a vaporizer, a water receptacle provided with a vertical passage way arranged to'fperr'nit the How of air therethrough, a lamp base positioned in said passage way,
"ahd'lni electric lamp in said base, in combination with a wick on the wall of said passage wa a two-part cover to said receptaele, ineans to position, on said receptacle, the said cover, to permit the flow of air between said cover and said receptacle, a downwardly extending rim to said cover, in spaced relation to the vertical walls of said receptacle, an aperture in said cover, a shade of translucent material over said aperture,
