The object of the present invention is to connect all the six iced rollers in such a manner that the amount of feed and the position of the feed rollers on the nipper plate can be altered and adjusted simultaneously by a single screw alfecting all six rollers.
In order that the invention may-be clearly understood I append a sheet of drawingsin which the invention is shown applied to. a comber constructed according to my United States Patent No. 1,369,532 but it willbe understood thatit may be applied equally well to any other combing machinein which the feed roller is carried on and swings with the nipper.
Fig. 1 is a section through the middle of a head showing the nipper and feed roller when in their nearest position to the detaching roller D and showing only such parts as are necessary.
Fig. 2 is a similar section showing the necessary parts in their opposite extreme position whilst the cylinder C is combing.
The feed roller F rests on the nipper plate P attached to the bridge B cast with the nipper cheeks N the whole swinging on the adjustable nipper pivot N and receiving its oscillating motion from the shaft W through the rod 17 and pin 16. The roller bearing 30 can be moved along and set in any position on the rod 31 which is'pivoted at 32 on the lower arm of the'right angled lever L hinged loosely on the pin 16.
