This inner end por- In order to securely hold the outer hub section upon the inner hub section, there has been provided securing means which is illustrated in Figs. 1, 2 and 4:. This securing means consists briefly of securing bolts 18 which are passed through alined openings 19 and 20 formed in the two sections of the hub and are screwed into threaded openings formed in metal blocks 21 which are mounted in sockets 22 formed in the inner hub section. These blocks are of duplicate construction and each is'providedwith side arms 23 and 24 which fit into recesses 25 and 26 extended from the ends of the pockets 22. From an inspection of Fig. 1, it will be noted that the block is shorter than the pocket 22 so that it can have movement longitudinally of the pocket when necessary. It will also be noted from. an inspection of this figure that the arm 24: is longer than the arm 23 and that the pocket or recess 26 is deeper than the recess 25. It will thus beseen that when inserting the block, it may be put in place with the arm 24 extending into the recess 26 and the block tilted as shown in Fig. 1 and then dropped down into the pocket and moved to the posi tion shown in 1. The securing screw 27 will then be screwed into the threaded opening formed in the arm 26 and as it is screwed tightly into place, the tapered head of the screw will form a wedging element which will engage the end of the block and the inner end of the pocket 22 and thus tightly wedge the block in place. lVith the screw 27 removed, the block can be moved to extend the arm '24: inwardly of the recess 26 and the block can then be tilted upwardly to the position shown in Fig. 1 and removed.
EVhen assembling the wheel hub, the blocks 21. are first put in place and the securing screws 27 then inserted and screwed tightly into place so that the blocks will be firmly wedged in the pockets. The outer hub section can then be placed upon the inner hub and the securing bolts 18 passed through the alined openings 19 and 20 and screwed into the blocks 21. WVhen these bolts are tightened, the outer hub section will be forced towards the inner end of the inner hub section and the radiating arms 16 will be firmly and quickly done.
We claim:
1. In a demountable wheel, a hub structurev including an inner spindle-engaging section and an outer spoke-carrying section fitting upon the inner section, the sections having their contacting faces provided with contacting abutment shoulders adjacent the inner and outer ends of the hub structure,
blocks positioned in pockets formed in the inner hub section, and fasteners passing through alined openings in the hub sections and having their inner end portions engaging said blocks.
2. In a demountable wheel, a hubstructure including an inner spindle-engaging section and an outer spoke-carrying section fitting upon the inner section, the sections having their contacting faces provided with contacting abutment shoulders limiting longitudinal movement of the sections and havingpstepped relation to each other, one of the sections having pockets intermediate its shoulders, blocks removably fitting into the pockets, and fastener bolts passing through alined openings in the hub sections and screwed into threaded openings insaid blocks.
3. The structure of claim 2having the blocks each provided with side arms fitting into recesses leading from the pocket, and securing means for holding theblock against movement out of the pocket carried by one of the side arms and engaging the inner hub section.

The structure of claim 2 having the blocks each provided with side arms fitting into recesses leading from the pocket, the pocket being of greater length than the block and one arm having greater length than the other whereby the block may have movement longitudinally in-the pocket with the arms both in the recesses when the block is moved to one end of the pocket, and one of the arms out of its recess when the'block is moved to the other end ofthe pocket and permitting tilting removal of the block and a fastener having threaded engagement with one arm and wedging engagement with the block and end wall of the pocket to hold the block against movement towards a position for removal.. 7
