Be it known that I, Dona Moannn, a citizen of the United States, and resident oi Stevens Point, in the county of Portage and State of l l isconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sanitary Belts; and I do hereby declare that the following; is a "full, clear, and exact description thereof.

My invention relates to a new and useful improvement in sanitary belts such as are provided with means tor supporting the ends of anapkin during; the period of menstruation.

The object of the invention is especially to provide improved means for holding the clamp which supports the end of the napkin so that there is no chance of its becoming accidently detached.

In describing my invention reference will be made to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a vention, and.

Figure is a detail view of the clamp.

Referring more particularly to the drawing, the belt comprises two portions 5 and 6 to which are connected the flexible supporting;

7 and 8. Each of these supporting members has a pair of eyes 9 in which a clamp 10 is secured which sup ports the end of the napkin 11. l

The clamp comprises a rectangular loop 12 formed from comparatively stitl' wire and having; the inturned

ends

A sleeve 15 is suitably secured to one of the intin'ncd ends, as for example 13 and the other end of the sleeve receives the other inturned end which is provided with a latery extending tip 16 which normally registers with a recess in the sleeve. A second 190 17 is substantially the same shape as the first described loop but slightly smaller and is provided at its ends with eyes 18 which pivot-ally receive the inwardly projecting ends 13 and 14. The wire from which the loop 12 is "formed is sufficiently resilient to permit the end 14: to be separated from the sleeve so that the latter may be inserted through the eyes 9. While l have shown and described one specific fgrm in which my invention may be embodied it will be understood that the invention includes all equivalents which may fall within the scope of what is claimed.

1 claim as my invention 1. In a device of the character described, a clamp comprising a substantially rectangular loop, one side of the rectangle being formed by the ends of the loop extending toward each other and a sleeve secured to one of the ends and separably receiving the other end, and a second loop of approXimately the same shape but slightly smaller than the first loop and havingeyes formed in it 5 and pivotally receiving the ends of the fir t loop.

In a device of the character described, a clamp formed from two members each comprisii a substantially rectangular loop of comparatively stiff wire, one side of one rectangle being formed by the ends of the loop extending toward each other and a sleeve secured to one of the inwardly turned ends and detachably receiving the other end, said last named end terminating in a laterally projecting tip, a recess in the sleeve receiving; said tip to yieldingly hold the loop in closed position, the other loop being slightly smaller than the first described loo and having eyes formed in its ends and pivotally receiving the inwardly turned ends of the first described loop, and a support having: attaching eyes which may be slip s over the end of said sleeve when the detachable loop end is removed therefrom In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand at Stevens Point; in the county of Portage and the State of Vdisconsin.
