IMPROVEMENT IN FLQUR-BOLTS.
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 142,083, dated August 26, 1873; application filed April 1'4, 1873.
To all 'whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, DAVID T. CHOAT and HENRY RICH, of Cedar Falls, county of Black Hawk and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Mill- Bolts, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of our invention relates to an improvement in 4mill-bolts; and it consists in supporting the cloth directly upon a series of spiral ribs, as will be more fully described hereafter.
The accompanying drawings represent our invention.-
'a represents a round bolt having spiral ribs c arranged upon its inside at regular intervals, to which the cloth is tacked, and which allow` the flour, middllngs, or meal to pass unobstructedly through.` Arranged upon the outside of the bolt, and in contact with it, is a stationary adjustable brush, which prevents the cloth from clogging, and keeps it alway free and clear. Placed above the bolt, and operated by a belt from the driving-shaft, is a suction-fan, e, of any vsuitable kind, which draws up the specks and other impurities in the material being bolted, and drives them we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a round mill-bolt or separator, the bolting-cloth supported directly upon a series of spiral ribs, substantially as specified.
