IMPROVEMENT IN BOBBiN-HOLDERS FOR SEWING-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 141,98 [,datled August 19, 1873; application filed May 13,1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, WILLIAM F. BARNES,
I J OHN BARNES, and PETER. MEsIcK, of Rockand arranged in proper position for use other convenient contrivances necessary for use about a sewing-machine; and. it consists in the construction of the device, as will more fully hereinafter be described. 1
In the drawings, Figure l is a top or plan view of the holder, and Fig. 2 is an upright section of same.
A represents the body of the holder in any form that fancy may dictate; and contain the arrangement of the parts. B is a band-cushion surrounding the body A, and firmly fitted into a groove, 1), in the body, and is used for sticking pins or other points therein. 0 is a slab of emery or other sharp and fine grit, for sharpening needles or. pins used about or by the machine; is inserted in the top of the bobbin-holder A. c is a pin, set at sufficient distance from emery slab or stone 0 to pass-needles between pin and stone, and, by leverage,

3. The combination of the bobbin-holder A with the pin-cushion B, substantially as described.
4. The combination of the bobbin-holder A with the emery cushion E, substantially as described.
5. The combination of the bobbin-holder A with the emery slab or needle-grinder O,'substantially as described.
6. The combination of the bobbin-holder A with the emery slab O and pin or stud 0, substantially as described.
7 The combination of abobbin-holder, needle-cushion, needle-grinder, and pin-cushion, and pin or stud c, in a single device, substantially as and for the purpose described.
