TOY.
APPLICATION FILED SEPT. 30. I919- Patented May 30, 1922.
PATENT OFFICE.
ALMA VOG'I, 035 ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
TOY.
Application filed September 30, 1919.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALMA Vos'r, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of-tlt. Louis and State of Missouri, have invented a new and useful Toy, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in toys and consists in the novel construction hereinafter disclosed.
An object of the invention is to provide a toy comprising a body portion which may be made to represent a doll. or other object having means for supporting the body on the lingers of the operator, whereby the toy may be manipulated to represent an animate object.
With the foregoing object, as well as ad ditional features in view, I have designed the construction hereinafter described, reference being made to the arcompanying drawing, in which- Fig. l is a front elevation.
.ilig. 2 a side elevation, and
Fig. 8 .is a fragmentary rear elevation.
The body portion 1. may be nrade of any suitable material, such, for instance, as cast celluloid, and may take any preferred configuration and design. The body is preferably made hollow. In the baclr wall of the body, near the lower extremity, is a pair of spaced holes 2, and in the bottom of the bottom of the body are a pair of spaced holes 8, positioned with respect to the body at a point near the upper part of the legs. The first two lingers of the operator may be inserted. through the holes 2, the fingers bending at the second joint, and extending downwardly through the holes 3, so that when viewed. from, the front, the portion of the fingers extending below the body will simulate the legs of the doll or other objects. The first joints of the fingers represent the knee portion of the doll. Separate elements at representing the feet, and having openings 5 for the insertion of Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 30, 1922. Serial No. 327,462.
the ends of the fingers, are provided to complete the simulation of the extremity of the legs and are arranged to be slipped over and held by theends of the fingers.
the body is supported entirely by the two fingers of the operator, the fingers may be manipulated to simulate the legs of the object and the body portion may be moved so that a complete representation of natural movement of legs and the body may be carried out.
By the manipulation of the device, a simulation of dancing or walking or other activities may be represented by the device I am aware that the device need not be confined to a representation of a human be ing, but may be made, by slight changes, to represent animals or other animate objects.
li hat I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A toy of the character described, comprising a hollow body having twospaced finger holes through the back wall thereof and two spaced finger holes through the bottom wall thereof for receiving the fingers of the operator, all of said holes being separated by integral portions of the wall of the hollow body, said portions of the "all of the hollow body holding the fingers of the operator spaced and constituting bearings against which the fingers of the operator press when manipulating the toy.
2. ll. toy of the character described, comprising a hollow body hai ing an opening through the back wall thereof, and two spaced linger holes through the bottom wall thereof for receiving the fingers of the perator, said finger holes being separated by an integral portion of the wall of the hollow body and constituting bearings against which the fingers of the operator press when manipulating the toy.
