1 '0 all whom it may concern Be it known that l, Warren G. BRoUeH- ToN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Fireproof Doors, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to fire proof doors for garages, and other buildings, and one feature of the invention resides in the novel construction of the doors which may be folded to occupy but little space when in open position.
Other features will hereinafter appear and in order that the invention may be fully understood, reference will now be had to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is. a front elevation of a garage equipped with the doors.
Fig. 2 is an enlarged horizontal broken section taken on line TIH of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view of one of the door panels before being completely filled with concrete or the like, said panel being in a reverse position to that disclosed by Figs. 1 and 2.

Referring now in detail to the parts disclosed by the drawings, 2 designates a garage embodying corner columns 4 and front and side panels 6 and 8, respectively.
10 designates the doors at the front of the garage, two doors being employed and each door in the present instance consist ing of two panels 12, which are foldably connected so that when opened to the position disclosed by dotted lines, Fig. 9., they may be adjusted to occupy but little space close to the inner sides of the side panels 8.
In order that the door panels 12 may be made as light and strong as possible. 1 construct each as follows: 14 designates a rectangular frame made, preferably, of angle irons and filled with concrete or similar ma terial 16. In addition to the frame 14; the
concrete is reinforced with longitudinal rods 18, wires 19, bolts and nuts 22, all of winch are placed in position before the frame 14 is filled with the concrete 16.
\Vhen the bolts 20 are placed in position they are firmly secured to the angle irons of the frame 14: by nuts 24f, so that they cannot work loose in the concrete. The wires 19 are wrapped around. the rods 18 and a number of wires are extended around the nuts 22 after which the same are tightened upon the bolts 20 to take up slack in said wires 19 and hold the same taut. Short wires 26 are wrapped around the bolts 20 to hold that portion of the cement or concrete between thetwo sidemostrods 18 and the adjacent sides of the frame 14.
The two panels 12 constituting each door 10 are connected by hinges 28 which are firmly secured to the adjacent sides of the frame lei by bolt-s 30 and nuts 32, which latter like the nuts 24 are provided to hold the bolts firmly in position in the respectiveframes 14. The bolts 30 are further held in place by nuts 34 which like the nuts 32 may be employed to tension some of the wires 19. v
A number of angle irons forming part of the frames 14 are so positioned that their front sides 36 overlap the joints 37between the panels 12 as disclosed by Figs. 1 and 2, to exclude dust, rain, etc., while the two sidemost angle bars 85 are placed in reverse position to the others to close the joints 38 between the panels 6 and the adjacent sides of the doors 10 and, also, to provide substantial means to which. hinges 40 may be secured. The uppermost angle irons are arranged with one side 11 turned upwardly to close the joint between the upper margins of the doors 10 and the lintel 43 against the rear side of which the sides 11 abut when the doors 10 are closed.
The hinges 10 support the doors 10 and in turn are supported by bolts 12 and nuts 4e, secured to plates 46 which are secured to the panels 6 with bolts and nuts similar to the manner in which the hinge 28 is connected to the panel 12 Fig. 1.
From the foregoing description it is apparent that I have produced foldably fireproof doors embodying the advantages above pointed out, and while I have shown and described the preferred construction, combination. and arrangement of parts, I reserve the right to make such changes properly fall Wlol'llll the spirit and scope of the claims. Having thus described my invention. What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. A door structure consisting of a rectangular metallic frame, bolts spaced apart and extending into said frame, nuts threaded upon said bolts, Wires connected to said nu is and drawn taut thereby, and suitable material filling said frame,
