WITNESS: V
G. D. VOUGHT. RECEPTACLE FOR BARBERS' EQUIPMENT. APPLEICATION FILED JAN-28, 192].

NVENTOR George H Wag/Ii PAYEW? @FFt REGEPTACLE FOR BARBEIRS EQUIPMENT.
Application filed January 28, 1921.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, Gnonon D. VoUeHT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Mount Union, in the county of Huntingdon and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Receptacles for Barbers Equipment, of which the following is a specification.
An object of the invention is to provide a receptacle for barbers equipment in the nature of a rack or holder for conveniently holding the various tonsorial implements, face lotions, tonics, etc., in any convenient place such as in immediate proximity to the barbers chair so that ready access to the various articles and implements can be had by the operator of the chair.
The invention comprehends among other features a form of rack or shelf which can be supported in a novel manner at the rear of a chair to occupy an upright position at all times regardless of the position of the back of the chair, whether it be inclined or arranged in a sitting up position with various receptacles and supporting devices provided to receive and support the tonsorial implements, brushes, shaving soap containers and bottles or receptacles containing face lotions, tonics and cosmetics.
In the further disclosure of the invention reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings constituting a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which,
Figure 1'is a fragmentary rear elevation of a barber chair showing my device applied thereto;
Figure 2-is a fragmentary vertical sectional view taken through the device and a part of the chair, the latter being shown in elevation, and
Figure 3-is a plan view.
Referring more particularly to the views the numeral 10 indicates a barber chair and the numeral 11 the back thereof, the chair and back being of the usual design and con struction and of which the back is usually arranged to swing so that the person sitting in the chair can assume a sitting up position or an inclined posture. My device par ticularly comprises an elongated box-like shelf provided with a relatively high rear Specification of Letters latent.
Patented May 23, 1322.
Serial No. 440,736.
At one end of the shelf there is provided a hook or mounting 17 for a hair brush 18 and at the other end there is provided a suitable hook or mounting 19 for a duster or brush 20. So also the front wall of the shelf is equipped with a hook or mounting 21 for supporting the usual clippers 22 and the front wall of the shelf is materially lower than the back and end walls th erect and is provided with a substantially l-shaped longitudinal projection in the form of a trough 23 for the reception of the usual razors, shears, combs, etc. One of the ends 24 of the shelf preferably has a horizontal ledge or platform 25 on which is mounted a holder 26 for a shaving cup 27 or a shaving powder can 28 Or both, and removably disposed within the shelf is a spacing rack 29 preferably comprising front and back pieces 30 having depending supporting legs 31 and spacing bars 32 connecting the front and back pieces 30, a rubber or other pad being conveniently disposed on the bottom of the shelf as shown.
From the foregoing description it will be seen that the device can be conveniently mounted in an out-of-the-way position at the back of the barber chair and that as shown in the views the back mountings and supports provided are conveniently arranged to receive the various tonsorial implements generally employed by a barber. the spacing rack 29 conveniently sub-dividing the shelf for the reception of various bottles 34 containing the usual face lotions, hair tonics and the like.
Having described my invention, 1 claim- A device of the class described comprising an elongated box-like shelf provided with a relativel high rear wall and having a relatively low front Wall, a substantially V-shaped longitudinal projection extending from the front wall of said receptacle, :1 pair of spaced extension members having flared lower ends extending froni'the upper edge of the rear Wall of said shelf and a spacing rack removably disposed in said shelf.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
7 GEORGE n. VOUGHT
