Be it known that I, ELMER F UznssnRY, a citizen of the United States, residing atAkrein in the county of Summit and b'tate of Ohio, have invented new and useful Improvements in Resilient Heels, of which the followingis a specification. v p
This invention relates to resilient heels and has particular relation to heel lift composed of rubber, rubber composition or similar substance. 3 The main object of the invention is to provide a lift which when attached to a shoe heel will adhere closely thereto and which will not in use develop an unsightly gap be- The above and otherobjects are accomplished by the novel construction, combi-' nation and arrangement of partshereinafter described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein Ihave shown a preferred embodiment of the invention, it being understood that the invention is capable of various adaptations and that changes, and variations'may be made and substitutions resorted to which come within the spirit of the invention or the scope of the claims hereunto appended.

Referring now to the drawings in detail, the numeral 6 is used generally to denote the wearing face of the lift and the numeral 7 the attaching face. The numeral 8 is used to denote the breast and the numeral 9 the rear and lateral sides of the heel. The wearing face of the heel 1s provided with a configuration in has-relief in the form of a rib 10 which is positioned thereon in spaced relation to the sides 9 of the lift. 4. A heel lift comprising a body of resili-L ent material, provided on its wearing face witha low flat rib of rectangular cross section which is positioned thereon in spaced parallel relation to the peripheral edge of the lift, nail receiving openings in said rib,
a groove formed in the attaching face there of so that the face of the rib will lie in the same plane with the wearing face of the lift when the same is distorted by being at tached to a heel.
5. A heel lift comprising a body of resilient material, provided on its wearing face with a low rib of rectangular cross section which is positioned thereon in parallel spaced relation to the peripheral edge of the 1 lift, nail receiving openings in saidrib, the
attaching face of the lift being provided with achannel which is positioned therein directly opposite said rib, the-outer wall of said channel being inclined upwardlyfrom' the bottom thereof to the peripheral edge of the lift and the inner wall of'said channel beinginclined upwardly at a similar angle, the central portion of said attaching face being flat and dlsposed ina plane lower than the peripheral edge ofsaidattaching face,
