In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a plan view of a printers chase with the form confined with my adjustable furniture. Fig. 2 is a section taken on the line a: .00. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of one of the pieces of adjustable furniture, showing how the same may be reduced in weight when made of metal.

A represents the chase; B the form or type. C is my adjustable furniture. D represents the ordinary furniture used or blocks, and E are the wedges.
The furniture heretofore used by printers consists of solid strips or pieces of wood or metal of varying length. Forms of different sizes require pieces of different length so that they may press upon every side of the form without interfering with each other, and a sufficient for any sized form in a chase suitable therefor.
By this mode of conseructing the furniture the labor of securing the form in the chase is greatly lessened, the annoyance of hunting. for the suitable pieces is avoided, and much valuable time is saved.
When the adjustable furniture is made of metal the pieces 0 may be reduced in weight by making apertures through at right angles with the slots, as indicated in the drawing.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The pieces 0 having a solid middle equal to the shortest side of the smallest form and slotted from said middle outward to each end,
