This invention relates, to undergarments, and particularly to knitted infants? bands, though within the scope and purpose of the invention,- it may be put to other' uses.

body part ll is provided at the front with an inte ral strip continuation 13 adapted to be folded upon itself as shown in Fig. f, to provide a loop for the reception of a safety pin 14 or like device. The strip 13 at its end 15 is adapted to be secured in any suitable manner to the body portion 1, as, for example, by. pinning, buttoning or stitching 15. At the rear the garment is preferably provided with an inte 'ral strip con tinuation 16.

The napkin or diaper may be secured to the strips 13, 16. In addition to the foregoing means or as asubstitute therefor, the garment may be provided with a tape or tapes 17 sewed throughout substantially the length thereof to the body portion of the garment and passing over the shoulders as indicated at 18. In this manner, loop portions 19, are provided which are adapted to receive safety pins or like devices 20 as indicated in Fig. i.

In Figs. 5 and 6, I have shown still another form of my invention. Therein the lower part of the body of the garment is indicated at 30. One part of the garment, and desirably the front, is provided with an integral strip formation 31, and I have herein represented said strip formation and the lower-part of the body as having a suitable bindingor reenforced edge 32- To one face I of said strip portion 31' and desirably to the front thereof, I attach-a preferably knitted strip 33 which is folded upon itself'at at to provide a return portion 35, herein shown as having a buttonhole 36 to receive a button 37 secured by thread 38 to the several underlying parts. If desired, the rear of the garment may be provided with any of the forms shown in the foregoing figures, but desirably I provide an integral formation 39 to which the diaper or napkin may be attached.

In each of the several forms of my inven tion, the body of the garment may be of the character disclosed or referred to in connection with the description of Figs. 1 and 2.

Having thus described certain embodiments of my invention, I desire it to be'understood that although specific terms are employed, they are used in generic and descriptive sense and not for purposes of lim itation, the scope of the invention being set forth in the following claims.

Claims- 1 An undergarment formed of knitted material and having at its lower end a reen trant portion, from the base of which extends a flap of substantially the width of said reentrant portion and integral with the body of the band, said flap being adapted to be folded into a loop for the reception of a safety pin or other fastening device.

2. An infants undergarment havingat its lower end a reentrant portion from the base of which a flap extends integral with the body of the garment, said flap being adapted to be folded upon itself into a loop to receive a safety pin or like fastening device, a button upon the reentrant portion, and a buttonhole in the end of the flap.

3. A knitted undergarment having per manently at its lower end a knitted exten sion adapted to be foldedupon itself into a loop for the reception of a safety pin or other fastening device, said extension having buttoning means whereby to secure it in its folded condition to the body of the garment.

4. An undergarment formed of knitted material and having at its lower edge at substantially midway between the sides of the garment a relatively narrow'reentrant portion, a flap of substantially the full width of said reentrant portion integral with the body of the garment and of substantial length so as to befolded upon itself for the reception of a safety pin or other fastening device,- and means to secure said folded flap in holding position. 7

5. An undergarment formed of knitted material and havingat its lower edge at the f middle of the front a relatively narrow re entrant portion, from the base of which a flap integral with the body of the garment extends, said flap being of substantially twice the length of the reentrant portion and:

of substantially the full width thereof and adapted to be folded for the reception of a safety pin or other fastening device, and a button and buttonholeconstruction for securin said flap in folded position.

6. Zn undergarment formed of knitted material'having at its lower end a relatively narrow reentrant portion, from the base of which a flap 5, 7 extends, said flap being of substantially the full width of the reentrant portion, and button and buttonhole means 8, 9 for securing the flap in folded position.
