This invention relates to grcove cutter adapted to produce the grooves necessary in cement or artificial stone iloors For :filling with a compound ot a diitlierent color to give the appearance ot tile floor.-
lt will heiuiderstood by thoseskilled in the art `that it is common toprodi'u'e grooves in artificiel stone or cement iioors which grooves divide the Afloor up into a series ot blocks. These groovesare then lilled with a cementitious material .of a different color ,trom the hody of' the floor so the nished door presents the appearance of a series of separate tiles whereas the blocks are really divided by shallow grooves.onlyn y lt will also he understood that the grooves are out in the stone at a time when it has set sufficiently to be harrh but not hard enough to seriously interfere with the grooving operation. l Y y Another object of the invention to produce a groov'ng machine capable of work-V ing on either side of the motor used, therebyf enabling the cutter vto make a groove very close to the walls ot the corridor or room.
Another object of the invention is to produce a straight edge track that can be connected together in sections to enable the r-pparatus to produre grooves in a door of any extent. rlhese sections are connected together by any suitable means and in such lengths as the extent of the floor requires. will be understood by those skilled in the art that the track sections may be made straight it the grooves are to be out straight, `in which event the apparatus yiliollows the straight track or il' the grooves are to be cut on a curve the curved track is used and the cutter 'Follows the curved track.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings in which the same reference numeral is applied to the same portion throughout, but am aware that there may be modifications thereof.

The two arms are connected to their supports by means of bearingy clamps 23, 24 detachable therefrom. f y
The two arms 20, 22 are connected at their ends opposite the motor by means of the bar 2:3 and two clamps 267 2*? and they are conn nected at a middle portion by a rod 23 which passes through holes in the arms 20, 22 and which is held in a. given position by the set screws 29 30.
The rod 28 carries two brackets 3l which brackets are each held in the position shown in 2 by a bolt- 33. The brackets 3l each have an adjustablerod 34 at the lower end o''.l -which in each Case is a groove-d roller 35. The tworollers 35 rest onV the tracks 10, ll and the adjustment of the rods 34 determines thedepth of the groove cut in the door.

A Hoor grooving machine comprising a motor,` a Wheeled truck for the motor, arms movable concentrically with the motor shaft, a` saw carried by the arms, means to drive the saw from the motor shaft, and a pair of wheels adjustably connected to the arms to determine the depth of cut made by the saw, the arms and gauge wheels being reversible to permit the saw to beV used on both sidesof the motor.

A Hoor grooving `machine comprising a series of bases, means to detachably con# nect the bases, tracks carried by the several bases to be aligned when the basesV are connected, a motor, a wheeled truck for the motor movable, on the tracks of the bases, arms carried by the motor, a bar connecting said arms, a saw carried by the arms, means to drive the saw from the motor shaft brackets adjustable longitudinally and radially of the bar connectlng the arms and wheels carried by said brackets to gauge the depth of v cut produced by the saw.
5. A machine of the class described comprising a motor, a wheeled truck therefor, a pair of swinging arms movable concentrically about the motor shaft to be used on both sides of the motor, a rotary tool carried by the arms and means to rotate the tool from the motor shaft. p

A machine of the claas described comprising a motor, a pair of swinging arms movable concentrically about the motor shaft to be used on both sides of the motor, a bar rigidly connecting said arms, a shaft revolubly journaled in the ends of said arms, a rotary tool'carried by the shaft Vand means to rotate the tool from the motor shaft.
