- My invention relates to an apparatus for jetting piles and the objects of my invention are first, to provide a etting apparatus for jetting piles in which a plurality of jets are used spaced relation around the pile to provide great efliciency; second, to provide an apparatus of this class whereby the jets are directed to adjacent the outer edge of the pile and toward the center below said pile so that all ground beneath the pile is disturbed by the action of the jets; third, to provide a pile jet apparatus of this class in which a plurality of jets may be umformly distributed, adjacent the outer surface of the pile and in which a less number of hose connections are required for providing water under pressure to said jets; fourth, to provide an apparatus of this class which is supported in position around the pile and may be turned or shifted thereon to facilitate the operation, and fifth, to provide an apparatus of this class which is very simple and economical of construction, durable, easy to operate, very efficient in its action and which will not readily deteriorate or get out of order.

PILE-JETTING APPARATUS.
Application filed May 5, 1919,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, VILIHAM J. OMARR, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Diego, in the county of San Diego and State of California, have invented a certain new and useful Pile-Jetting Apparatus, of
, j which the/following is a specification.
' My invention relates to an apparatus for jetting piles and the objects of my invention are first, to provide a etting apparatus for jetting piles in which a plurality of jets are used spaced relation around the pile to provide great efliciency; second, to provide an apparatus of this class whereby the jets are directed to adjacent the outer edge of the pile and toward the center below said pile so that all ground beneath the pile is disturbed by the action of the jets; third, to provide a pile jet apparatus of this class in which a plurality of jets may be umformly distributed, adjacent the outer surface of the pile and in which a less number of hose connections are required for providing water under pressure to said jets; fourth, to provide an apparatus of this class which is supported in position around the pile and may be turned or shifted thereon to facilitate the operation, and fifth, to provide an apparatus of this class which is very simple and economical of construction, durable, easy to operate, very efficient in its action and which will not readily deteriorate or get out of order.
WVith these and other objects in view as will appear hereinafter, my invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts and portions as will be hereinafter described in detail and particularly set forth in the appended claim, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the characters of reference thereon which form a part of this application, in which:
Figure 1 is a side elevational view of a pile partially driven and showing my jetting apparatus in operative position thereon fragmentarily and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the apparatus alone showing some of the members fragmentarily.
Similar characters of reference refer to similar parts and portions throughout the several views of the drawings.

The main conducting pipes 1 and 2 are preferably provided with bends 1* and 2 on their upper ends'which are provided with hose connecting threads 1 and 2 and they are placed on opposite sides of the pile and parallel therewith and they are connected at their lower ends in their spaced relation by the annular conducting pipe 4 which is preferably smaller than the pipes 1 and 2 by means of reducing crosses 1 and 2 and mounted intermediate these crosses 1 and 2 on the conductor 4 are T members 6 and 7* to which are connected the jet conductors 6 and 7. Also connected with the reducing crosses 1 and 2 are conductors 5 and 8 which form a continuation of the conductors 1 and 2 except that they are smaller in size so that the water is conducted under pressure through the conductors 1 and 2 and then distributed to the jet conductors 5, 6, 7 and 8 the water being conducted through the pipe 4 to the conductor 6 and 7. Each of the jet conductors 5, 6, 7 and 8 are provided with jet members on their lower ends or the ends may be swaged to form jet portions and they are also provided with small outlet orifices 5 6". and 8 forming a small jet directed inwardly for breaking up the central portion below the pile. It will be here noted that this annular conducting pipe 4 is slightly larger in diameter than the pile and that several of these jet conductors may communicate with this conductor 4:, in this case however, I have only shown two. The jet conductors 5, 6, 7 and 8 are secured in their relative spaced relation by means of an annular brace 3 which is preferably a thin plate provided with holes therein adapted for the U bolts 3 which extend around the conductors and support said conductors in a rigid manner against the brace 3.
It will be noted that in case any of the driving equipment extends downwardly below the top of the pile, that the conductors. 1 and 2 and conductor 4 or either of them may be offset to provide clearance for the same.
Though I have shown and described a particular construction, combination and arrangement of parts and portions I do not wish to be limited to this particular construction, combination and arrangement but desire to include in the purview ofvmy invention the construction, combination and arrangement substantially as set'forth in the appended claims.
It is obvious that with this construction there is provided an apparatus for jetting pile wherein a plurality of jets will be. distributed around the outer surfaces of the pile and inwardly and below the same whereby great efiiciency is provided for driving in compact earth orotherwise, that any number of jet conducting pipes may be posi tioned in certain spaced relation to each other around said pile and water conducted to themfrom a less number of main conductors, that said jets may be turned around the pile in unity if desired, that the same are placed in-their certain spaced relation to each other and means provided forsimultaneously conducting water to all of said jets.
