Hi vnmi, a citizen of the United States, residingat Enders, in the county of Faulkner and State of Arkansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Flows, of which the .following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to certain improvements in plows and has relation more particularly to the well known gee-whiz type of plows, and it is an object of the invention to provide a novel and improved device of this general character which is particularly adapted for use in connection with trashy ground and in connection with a side hill.

Another object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved device of this general character employing a plurality of gangs of ground working members and wherein each of said gangs is capable of vertical movement independently of the remainder of the gangs.

The invention consists in the details of construction and in combination and arrangement of the several parts of my improved plow whereby certain important advantages are attained and the device rendered simpler, less expensive and otherwise more convenient and advantageous for use, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.

The novel features of my invention will hereinafter be definitely claimed.

In order that my invention may be the better understood, I will now proceed to describe the same with reference. to the accompanying drawings, wherein:

Figure 1 is a view in top plan of an agricultural implement constructed in accordance with an embodiment of my invention;

Figure 2 is a view in side elevation of the device as illustrated in Figure 1; and

Figure 3 is a view partly in transverse section andpartly in front elevation illustrating the means herein disclosed for limiting the relative movement of the beam gangs.

As disclosed in the accompanying drawings, B denotes a beam to one side of which is secured a gang of beams A arranged in divergence rearwardly of the beam 13 and connected one to the other and to the beam B by the tie rods 1 whereby the beam B and the beams A are secured against movement one rela tively or independently of the others. The innermost beam A extends in advance of the remaining beams A and has its forward end portion pivotally engaged, as at 4, with the forward portion of the beam B. The beams A are connected one with the other by the tie rods or members whereby said gang of beams A and the beam 13 are capable of relative or independent swinging movement.

Secured to anintermediate beam A and to an intermediate beam A are the upwardly and rearwardly directed handle members 6 whereby the device in its entirety may be readily guided and whereby each gang A or A may be moved or adjusted one inde pendently of the other. i This movement of each of the gangs A or A independently of the other is of particular advantage when working in trashy ground as one of the gangs may be readily raised independently of the other when it is desired to clear the plow blades carried thereby. This relative movement of the gangs A and A also permits the device in its entirety to be employed with facility in connection with a side hill and particularly when said hill is of a relatively steep grade.

The relative movements of the gangs A and A are limited in both a downward direction and an upward direction by a vertically disposed loop member 7 secured to the beam B adjacent its rear end and extending the desired distance above and below said beam. The inner beam A is freely disposed through said loop member 7 so that said inner beam A and the loop member 7 effectively coact to limit the relative movements of the beams A and A in opposite directions.

From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that a plow constructed in accordance with my invention is particularly well adapted for use by reason i of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled and operated, and it will also be obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without Specification of Letters Patent. departing from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise arrangement and, formation of the several parts herein shown in carryingout my invention in practice except as hereinafter claimed.

I claim:

1. A11 implement of the class described comprising a beam, a gang of plow beams secured to one side of the beam, a second gang of plow beams positioned at the opposite side of the first named beam and pivotally engaged therewith, a handle member carried by each of the gangs of plow beams, and means carried by the first named beam and coacting with a plow beam of the second gang for limiting the relative swinging movement in opposite directions of said second gang and first named beam.

2. An implement of the class described comprising a beam, a gang of plow beams secured to one side of the beam, a second gang of plow beams positioned at the opposite side of the first named beam and pivotally engaged therewith, a handle member carried by each of the gangs of plow beams, and a loop member carried by the first named beam and extending above and below said beam, one of the beams of the second lgang being disposed through said loop memer. a
