To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that I, EARL \Vnsr, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Oakland, in the county of r-llameda and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Clothespins, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to devices for retaining articles, such as clothes, on a clothes line, and has for its object the provision of means whereby positive wedging action of said means will accomplish the desired result. i

A further object of this invention is to provide a device of the character described, which has means associated with the parts comprising the same for preventing said parts from being accidentally displaced from each other.

Another object of this invention is to provide a device or this character which is simple in construction, inexpensive to n1anufact-tire, strong, durable and reliable in operation.

For the purpose of retaining the pin 13, in the body 5, to prevent its accidental displacement theretrom, l have provided a slot let, adapted to extend from the rear extreinity of the pin to the point 15, which is over three-fourths the length thereof, and have suitably mounted in the tubular body vertical disposed crosspin 16, this cross pin extends from the slot 14:, and has its respective ends mounted in recesses 7 formed in the body 5,

From the consideration of Figure 3 of the drawing it will be apparent that inward movement of the pin 13, in the body 5, will "c limited by the contact of the cross-pin 16, with the body portionoi" the tapered pin 13,, at the point 15, and thus prevent the above mentioned accidental displacement.
