To all 'whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, WILLIAM G. DILLoN, CURTISS J. ToAY, WILLIAM H. ToAY, and
' ARCHIE HANEY, citizens of the United States,
' will be given, parts being of simple, durable and inexpensive construction.
More particularly our invention relates to such a device that may readily and easily be installed upon the counter or cash drawers of a bank, and so adapted that when a certain portion of the money is removed from the cash drawer an alarm will be rendered at some distant point, notifying the people that hear the alarm that the money has been removed from the cash drawer.
Still another object is to provide a device, for containing currency that has a portion of the currency permanently therein for rendering an alarm device inoperative, while the remainder of the money or currency may be removed therefrom as would be the case in the ordinary banking business. The
device being so installed that anyone not' familiar therewith, and who had no authority to remove the money out of the drawer would, by the removal of the money give the alarm.
lVith these and other objects in view, our invention consists in the construction, arrangement and combination of the various parts of our device, whereby the objects contemplated are attained` as hereinafter more fully set forth, pointed out in our claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 4 is a horizontal, sectional view, taken on the line t-l of Figure 1; and
Figure 5 is a modified form, showing the arm for holding the device inoperative.
In the accompanying drawings we have used the reference numeral 10 to indicate generally a bank counterror cashiers drawer, which is provided with the partition members 11 which are of the ordinary construe tion and which are used for separating the various denominations of currency.
It will be understoodthat our device is installed in each till or section so that removal of all of the currency of any one denomination will cause the alarm to ring.
The counter 10 is provided with an opening 12 and an annular recess in its upper surface 13. Our device which consists of a tubular shaped member or casing 111 is provided with a flange 15 on its upper edge, which is received in the recess 13, while the tubular member or casing 14 extends through the opening 12 and projects down below the under surface of the counter 10.
The flange 15 is provided with openings 16 for permitting screws 17 to be used for fastening the member 14 in position and against movement.
The lower end of the member 14 is screw threaded as at 1S for receiving the cap or closure member 19. The cap or closure member 19 is provided with a central opening 20 through which is extended the washer 21 which is of insulated materialV so that a Contact member 22 may extend through the washer and be insulated from the remainder of the device.
The contact member 22 1s provided with a screw threaded portion 23 upon which are guide devices or boltsf28 and 29.
The guide devices 28 and V29 extend through a slot30 inthe tubular shaped Vinember or casing lll. VVThe weight 27 is capable of vertical movement within the casing la and the movement thereof is limited by slot 30.
The'guide or 'bolt 29 lis pro-vided'with a nut 31 so that a wire 32 may be received between the head of the guideor bolt and the .nut r31. VA :bell33 is connected tothe wire. 32. :The wire'26 `is connected to ,a
source of energy 34 and then to the bell33 forcompletingthe wiring system.

The upper end ofthe arm 35 is formed at right A.angles to -the portion of the device which restsagainst the weight 27 so as to orma,currencyy engaging member 36 which is yslightly spaced above the upper edge of the weight 27 and substantially .parallel therewith.
