I '0 all whom it may concern v Be it known that we, TI-IEODOR VIGNEUX- and Moist XTALIQUETTE, subjects or" the, King of Great Britain, residing'at Magog, in the Province of Quebec, Canada, haveinvented certain new and useful-Improvements .in Movable- Supporting -Devices for Clippers; and we-do hereby declare that-the following is a "Efull, clear, andexact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which.it'appertains-to make and use the same. The presentinvention relates tonew and useful lmprovements- 1n a movable supporting device for clipperssuch as those used in,

clippers, wherebythey may be moved from one portion of the barbershop to another, for the use o f the barbers.

Another object of the invention is the pro.- vision of a support for clippers, movable upon 'a suitable track whereby it may be conveyed .the length .oiialroom, and-means carried by the support for holding the clip ers or the like at various elevations.

A still further object of the invention is the provision of a support such as above referred to, which includes resilient means for retaining the clippers -at various heights within the room, in which the device is mounted, so that the clippers may be suspended above'the heads of the occupants and moved across the room withoutdanger of striking such persons.

A still further object of the invention is the provision of a support for barber's clippers and the like with a view to compactness, and which will be comparatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture, reliable and efiicient in use, and readily ope-rated.

With the above and other objectsin view, the present invention resides. in the novel features of construction, formation, combination, and arrangement of parts, to be hereinafter more Ifully described, claimed and illustratedin the accompanying drawings, I

A hollow drum 19 is disposed within the housing 12, and is closed at one side thereof by a plate 20, which is keyed as at 21 to the before described shaft 18 so that it Will rotate therewith.

A sleeve 22 is mounted upon the shaft'18v for relative rotation thereon, and is provided exterior of one end of the drum 19 with a head 23, provided with peripheral notches 24, designated to engage the pawls 25 pivoted within the supplemental housing 26,

interposed between one end of the drum 19 and theadjacent end all of the housing 12.

' A spring 27 surrounds the sleeve 22 within the drum 19 and is attached at one end to the sleeve 22 as shown at 28, and like- ,wise to the interior of the drum as shown A strap 32 is attached to the outer side of the drum as at 33 and is woundthereon. The free terminal of the strap 32 projects through a slot 34 formed on the bottom 14: of the housing 12, and may be attached asshown at 34 to a convenient portion of a pair of electrical. barber clippers or other device which is to be supported by the foregoing device.

Obviously'the pawls 25 by their engagement with the notches 24: of the sleeve, are of such construction that they will hold the spring 27 in its various positions so that if it is, desired, the strap 32 may be pulled to any desired height'relative to the floor and locked against any undesired movement by the 'said-pawls but when it is desired to release the strap, by simply giving the same a quick pull, the pawls 25 will be thrown out of engagement and the spring will draw the'strap 32 to its desired height.

In use, for electrical clippers and other similar devices the strap 32 can be drawn to the desired height, and the clippers used, afterwards the strap is given a quick pull which will cause the spring 27 to draw the clippers up to a point adjacent the housing -12, above the heads of the persons in the room.

The housing then may-be given a push which will send it the length of the room or to the desired location.
