To all whom it May concern:

Be'it known that I, ANTHONY G. GrLLo'rr, a citizen of the United States. and a resident of Haledomin the county of Pa'ssaic and State of New Jersey, haveinvented certain new and useful Improveinents in Hand Reading Devices, of which the following is a specification.

This invention has referenceto an apparatus or device to facilitate the reading of hands of various persons; and has for its object to provide means whereby a movable member has various readings or facts at different parts and also index marks at each part, and which member will cause these var ious parts to'be brought to a certain predetermined position such as an openlng in a casing; in :combination with which the apparatus has a similar movable member with various parts containing the same index marks and adjacent each mark is a reading giving the corresponding characteristics of the person having the part of the hand as set forth in each reading.

'l'further object of the invention is toprovide a pair of movable members arranged adjacent to furnish two sets of readings for the hand characteristics; in combination with which a double movable member is provided having two sets of readings thereon corresponding to the said sets of readings on the other member. i A further object of the invention is'to providein connection with the casing of such member a kind of chart around the margins illustrating each of the readings on the, movable nembers as shown in the parts oflthe hand.

This'can be divided into eight portions that each contain a certain reading matter, and which portion also contains an index mark, on this disk being lettered from A to H n the disk sections. At this place 'I provide another disk 6 of smaller diameter that is placed concentric with the said disk and above thesaine whose edge is inside of the said annular reading portion 8 This disk may be carried by a shaft 7 projecting through the top and provided with a lmob 8 to turn the disk. The top of the casing has a window 9 at whichthis disk will have its annular portion 10 exposed. The disk 10 is divided into four sections or parts each of which will be en tirely exposed at the window 10, when turned. These sections will eachcontain certain reading matter and also each section is given an index mark suchas' letters J, K, L and M.

To operate in conjunction with the disk 2, I provide a disk 12 similarly mounted to rotate to ex ose an annular portion 13 at a window 14 1n the casing and this disk has disk 2. i

In a similar matter, the disk may have adjacent thereto and concentric therewith a disk 16 supported by a, shaft 17 that is turned by aknob 18 on top of the casing. The disk 16 has an annular portion 19 that may beldivided into four sections arranged to be brought successively to view at a winotherpair of double disks, provided in the casing. As shown the disk 21 has six seccasing, adjacent an opening 23 to engage the edge of this disk for its rotation. Concentric'with this disk 21. is. a similar disk 24 turned by a knob 25 to bring four sections for view at a window 26 in thecasing These sections are lettered R, U, V and W,

and contain reading matter giving certain indications on the hand.

A similar pair of disks is provided to cooperate with the latter disks. As shown I provide a disk 30 having six sections lettered from N to T brought for exposure to a win.- dow 31 in the casing. Each of these sections has reading matter giving the'characteristics of the person corresponding to the indications in the similanlettered part onthe disk 21. i The disk 30, is exposed at an opening 32 in the casingto engage this edge for rotation, A smaller disk 33 ismounted concentric with the disk 31 and turned by a knob 34 to bring four sections of an annular portion thereof to register with awindow 35 inthe casing. These four sections are lettered T, U, ,V and W, and eachcontains reading matter giving the characteristics of the person corresponding with the indications in the similar sections on the disk 24. Thesmaller disk 6 contains in these four sections reading matter descriptive of the finger; and thecorrespondingdisk 20 contains reading matter having the same letters 7 as on the disk 6, andthis reading matter sets forth the mentalinclination of the 'person' ,whose fingers correspond with some one of the four descriptions on. the disk 6. The

disk 21 asset forth contains these sections withreading matter descriptive of the responds with some one oi the readings on the disk 21. The fourth disk 24 contains sections with descriptions of the tips of the fingers or the finger end portions; and the disk 33-that contains the same index mar-ksor letr ters and has readings denotingthe tempera:

ment-of the person whose finger tips corre spond with one of the descriptions set forth onthe disk 24. In the use of thedevice, the hand-of the person is read and the four

In a device of the character set forth, the combination ot a casing having openings in one face, a rotary member arranged to turn in the casing to have a concentric annular port-ion thereof exposed at one of said openings as the member is turned,said annular-portion having at different parts reading matter givingcharacteristics of the thumb that is successively visible at'said openings as the member is turned, each said reading index mark also visible, a second rotarv member in the casing having a concentric annular portion exposed ,at anla-tter member having index marks suc cessive parts of the annular portions that are the same as said index'marks, the latter member also having reading matter adjacenteach said index mark giving will power characteristics corresponding to the thumb indications.

In a device of the character set forth, the combination of a. casing having openings in one face, a rotary member arranged to turn in the casing to have a concentricannular portion thereof exposed at one of said openings as the member is turned,.said annular portion having at different parts reading matter giving characteristics of the finger tips that is successively visible at said openings as the member is turned, each said reading matter having an index mark also visible; a second rotary member in the casing having a concentric annular portion exposed at another opening as the member is turned,

the latter member having index marks at successive parts of the annularportions that are the same as said index marks,.the latter member also having reading matter, adjacent each said indexmark showing the temperamental characteristics.

6. In a device of the character set forth,

In a device of the character set forth, the combination of a casing having four openings in one face, a rotary member arranged to turn in the casing to have a concentric annular portion thereof exposed at one of said openings as the member is turned, said annular portion having at different parts reading matter that is successively visible at said openings as the member is turned,

each said reading matter having an index a second rotary member in the casing having a concentric annular portion exposed at another opening as the member is turned, the latter member having index marks at successive parts of the annular portions that are the same as said index marks, the latter member also having reading matter adjacent each said index mark having a predetermined relation with the reading matter of the sameindex on the other rotary member, a third rotary member arranged to turn concentric with said first rotary member and having a concentric annular portion exposed at a third opening in the casing, said latter member having sets of reading matter With an index mark at successive parts of the annular portion to be exposed at said opening, a fourth rotary member arranged to turn concentric with member, the fourth rotary member having a concentric annular portion exposed at a fourth opening in the casing, said latter annular portion having index marks exposedat said openings that are the same as the index marks on the third annular member, said fourth annular member also thecombination of aflasing having four openings in one face, a rotary member arranged to'turn in the casing to have a concentric annular portion thereof exposed at one of said openings as the member is turned said annular port-ion having atdifierent parts reading matter descriptive of the hand that is successively visible at said openings as the member 1s turned, each said reading matter having an index mark also visible, a
