The present improvement consists in securing the tal) by vtwo stepleserranged to bridge the ends of the isi-shaped out. This results in preventing the tub from tearing at the ends ot' the out, and it results in a stronger construction as one end ot each staple i anchored in the cup outside of the tali so that the strain tendingl to Idislodge the staple is resisted by the full thickness of the Cap instead of y only one-half of the thickness, as in the Parker patent. These short staples may lie used when the cap is mede of good quality of peper boord but by the use of the longer staples shown in Figure i., or ofthe arrangement shown in Figure 3, e. somewhat cheaper boord will give satisfactory results.
