Be it known that we, OSCAR .W. HAGBERG and EMIL M. LINDE, subjects of Sweden and r the United States, respectively', residing at 5 the city4 and county of San Francisco and State of alifornia, have invented a certain new and useful improvement infWindoW Cooling and Washing Apparatus, of which tle following is a speclfication. l l The present invention relates to an attachment for windows particularly those of meat markets, fruit and vegetable stores` or any other establishment wherein it \is de sired to maintainthe'interior'of the store cool, the 'window clean, and to prevent the accumulation thereon of steam, frost ,or ice.
By our present apparatus, a thin volume of water is uniformly distributed over the upper edge of a window passing by gravity in afree lthin sheet downwardly of theN inner window surface affording afree rapid evaporation which-will maintain the temperature ofthe room at a relativelylow degree.
Our present invention-will by its use lendisplay in the window of perish- H able articles for a considerably longer period than ispossible under ordinarynonrefrigerating' conditions, 'and .duev to the novelty of the water sheet iiowi-n on the window will attract the attention o? passersby and serve as an advertising medium.
Theinvention consists mainly in the provision of means associated with a distributor head for causing the water to flow downwardly of the window in a solid sheet, and at the same time to 'provide an apparatus which is capable of being readily positioned in co-operative relation with display win-Y dows in general, and which is adapted for 40 ready removal at little expense.,

Referring more particularly to the several views of the drawings wherein like characters of reference designate corresponding parts, 1 isla sash or frame mounting the '75 glass 2, and extending vertically of one side of the sash or frame 1 is a water feed pipe 3, the supply to which is controlled by a valve 4. The pipe 3 is bent at right angles at its upper end and extends longitudinally of the upper wall of the sash or frame 1 l as at 5, to approximately the horizontal cen r thereof, where it connects with one end of a flexible coupling or hose 6. Extending transversely across the bottom of the sash or frame -1 is a gutter 7 for receiving the water passing down the window 2, and the water drains 'l from the gutter through a waste pipe 8. f Disposed transversely of the upper edge of the window `2 is an elongated distributingi head 9 substantially triangular in cross section closed `at its opposite ends and open for the full area of one face as at 10, the opening being disposed facing the window 2 as irr Figuresl 2v and 3 of the drawings. Within the head 9 is fixed`a distributor pipey e 11 extending longitudinally thereof and formed within 4its center with an inlet 12 connected with the feed pipe 3 through the flexible coupling 6. It will be apparent thatthe screen coveringon the distributor head-which affords y a great number of very small outlets between the lower ed-ge l15- of the head 9 and the window 2, insures the water streamleaving the interior of the distributor head in a thm sheet, and it will be understood that by the use of ,this distributor screen, the surface of the lwindow 2 throughout the entire j screw 21.

suitable head engaging c lip 24 rests on the edge 22 with one wall or surface extending a short distance over Vthe'lower surface of the head 9, which surface is cupped' as at 25 to receive the lower end of the tension f It will be observed that the the tension screw 21 will direct its force mainly on the lower side of the distributor head 9, and while it will force the edges tain the same against the inner surface `of the glass or window 2, a lateral pressure `is also exerted on the head 9 to force the same upwardly in contact with the shoulder 23.
