Application led January 15, 19721.
.To all whom t may concern.
Be it known that i, ANTON WILL, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook. and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and user ful Improvements in Combined Phonograph- Cabinets and Tables, of which the following is a specification. This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in combined phonoand table wherein the table top is pivotally mounted .upon a supporting frame structure adapted to be swung in a horizontal path to expose the phonograph section of thedevice.
A further object of the invention resides in the provision of a-combined phonograph cabinet and table Vwherein section is disposed beneath jacentone end of the table with a sliding thereof, rack conipartrnents Vfor dish Y adjacent the phonograph section for housing the records beneath the table top.
A still further objectv ofthe invention isl to provide a combination article of furniture embodying a phonograph section and a table member, each independently serviceable for the purpose intended and being of the general design of a library table.V
lVith the above and other objects in view, the present invention consists in the novel form, combination hereinafter more fully described in connection with the accompanying drawings, and in which like reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
in the drawings,
Figure 1 is a top plan view of the combined phonograph cabinet and table constructed in accordance with the present invention, the table top being moved on its pivotal mounting to expose the phonograph section,
2 is device with an end elevational view of the the supporting legs broken away and showing a sliding drawer in one end ot the table,
Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional View showing the phonograph sectionl and sliding drawer at opposite ends of the device disposed beneat-h the table top and Fig. '-1 is a cross sectional view taken on line .lV- 1V of Fig, 3 showing the phono- Specicaton of Letters Patent.

graph section with theracks for the record disks. j i Referring more in` detail to the accompanying drawings, there is illustrated a piece combined phonograph cabinet and library table embodying `corner supporting-legs 1 1 and a table top 2, the legs. being connected by dropped side and end boards 3 and 4 connected to the upper ends 1a of the table braces 5 having the ends thereof countersunk in the `side and end boards as shown in Fig. 1V with fastening lscrews 6 securing the diagonal braces to the corner legs, the table frame being of rectangular construction. and di, an upper bead section 2a is `secured to theupper edges ofthe side "and end boards 3 and 4 and upon which the table top d is mounted* Arb'ar i' extends transversely'of theV device and is anchored at its ends in the side boards 3, the table top 2 being supported adjacent one end of thel bar As shown in F igs, y1
pivotally:
upon the stud bolt S for swinging in a hori-.
zontal plane as indicated in Figs. 1 and 3. To limit the swinging movements of the table top in 4opposite directions7 a block 9 shown more clearly in Fig. 1 is secured to the under side of the table top 2 and in the position ys hown in Fig. 1 engages one sido board 3 to limit the opening swinging movement of the table top while the opposite end of the block 9, when the table is moved to its closed position as shown in Fig. 3, engages the adjacent sido 'edge of the transverse bar 7 whereby the table top is correctly positioned overlying the table base.
transverse partition wall 10 extends between the side boards 3 as shown in Figs. 1 and 3 to divide the table structure beneath the ytable top into separate.compartments 11 and 12. The compartment 11 is provided with corner guides 13 for a sliding drawer 14 adapted for moving outwardly of the table as will-be evident from an inspection of Figs. 2 and 3.
The compartment 12 of the table constitutes the phonograph cabinet section thereof, said compartment containing a horizontal partition 15 providing a space' 16 therebeneath for a motor resting'upon the botmember 18 shown in Fig. 3 extends into an apertured block 19 upon the partition 15 with the enlarged outer end 20 thereof @standing thillgh the horizontal partition 15,
transverse partition 10 and lower side of the compartment `11. *Y The as shown in Fig. 1A is provided with a central opening 21 for the power shaft of the phonograph motor upon which shaft a disk record turn table may be mounted. The wall 15 supporting the phonograph turn table terminates at points spaced Jfrom the sideA boards 3 as shown in Figs. 1 and 4C, the same being mounted on ledges 22 carried by the inner faces of the vertical walls 23 spaced from said side boards to provide record` disk racks 24C containing vertical partitions 25.* TheV partitions 24 terminate at points spaced from. the adjacent end board `@and a block 26 is' supported at` the upper ends thereof having a series of depression pockets 2'?k graphophone needles A use the graphophone,A the table top is moved upon its pivot bolt8 and 'limited in its swingingA movement by theblock` 9 engag-` ing the bead the phonograph section compartment 12 as opening at the `may ber made ble comprising a 2al as showin Fig. 1 -toeXposef illustrated. The phonograph and its operat-v ing motor are disposedV within the compartments 1,2 and 16, the tone arm oi the sound" box` beingl'connected to the block 19 for transmitting sounds to the horn sections 18 and 20. The recorddisks are conveniently storedin the compartments 24 and` separated by the partition racks 25 whilethe Vsupply of needles are contained within the pockets in the blocks 26.
hile there is' herein shown and de scribed whatfis believed to be` the preferred embodiment of the invention, it is nevertheless to be understood `'that minor changes arrangementVoi "parts without departing from the spirit claimed.
hat is claimed as new is:
. A combinedphonographV cabinet and; ta-
` table trame, having separate compartments therein withone of `said and scope of the invention as in the form7 combination and compartments open at itslower side, and a table top hinged to said `trame adapted to swing in ahorizontal plane toexpose one of thev compartments, a phonograph h orn Vhaving the inner end thereof extending into the exposed compartment.- and-the outer end thereof extending `into"` the other compare ment and opening `at the lower vopen end of `said compartment.
In testimony whereoiil my signatnre.
