(GRANTED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE ACT OF MARCH 3, 1921, 41 STAT. L, 1313.)
0 all who-m z't may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANZ GAXEDE residing at Fort Nurttemberg, near Metz, in the Imperial Province of Lorraine, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drip-Guards for Brushes, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to drip-guards for use on shaving and other'brushes, as well known, and it has among its objects to produce a device of this class, which shall possess superior advantages in point of simplicity, durability and general efficiency.
More especially, the invention consists of the construction and arrangement of the drip-guard in such manner, that the latter is to be used as a handle.
It also comprises details of construction which will be more fully explained by reference to the accompanying drawing, which illustrates apreferred form of embodiment of the invention in longitudinal section.
in the drawing, a represents the true brush, which is fixed in any well known manner to the shaft Z), the end 0 of which is flattened. Further, the shaft Z) has a screwthreaded part d for the connection with the receptacle 6. This receptacle is adapted to receive the dripping of the brush a, and its bottom f has a threaded aperture corresponding to the part cl of the shaft b. The outer form of the receptacle 6 is that of a suitable handle. 7
Inside of the wall of the receptacle are arranged deflectors h, consisting of inwardflaring flanges. It is advantageous, also to provide such a deflector 2' on the shaft 5. These deflectors will prevent the gathered liquid to flow out when the receptacle is tilted.
To protect the screw-connection against the entering of moisture, the shaft 6 possesses a flange-like enlargement 9.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters PateIit- A drip-guard for use on shaving and other brushes, comprising in combination a receptacle in the form of a handle, having an opening in its top and deflectors inside of the wall, and a deflector arranged on the shaft of the brush.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
FRANZ GAEDE.
