following is a specification.
rlhis invention relates to limprovements in vegetable cutters, particularly cabbageslicers, and it is the object of my invention to produce a device adapted to facilitate the operation of slicing with economy and despatch.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of this character that will combine simplicity and economy in construction with durability and eiiiciency in use.
My invention consists in a table having a top hinged thereto and a' horizontal dis posed rotary cutting or slicing disk below the top made of spring metal and so constructed as to adapt it to be adjusted to re ulate the depth of the slice.

My invent-ion further consists in the parts and combination of parts as will be more fully described and pointed out in the claim.
My improvement will be readily understood from the following description, taken in connection with the accompanyingdraw ings, in which- Figure 1 is a front view of a device einbodying the cabbage slicer constructed according to the presentinvention.

A vertical shaft 29 is rotatably secured in the bracket 2li and carries somewhat above the saine a bevel gear 30 in mesh with the gear 26. The gear 30 receives its rotation from the gear 26 upon the operation of handle 28 and transmits the same to shaft 29, the upper end of which works in a suitable bearing 31 formed in a metal plate secured to the underside of the table top.
At a sinall distance below said bearing 31 the vertical shaft 29 is squared to provide a seat for a cutter disk 32, which is pressed against its seat by a nut securing said disk to the shaft so that it participates in its rotation.
The disk 32 is composed of wings 33 having a configuration illustrated in detailY in Fig. 5, and having substantially knife shaped edges curved on the arc of a circle, the outer edges of two adjoining disks being connected by bands 34, the ends of which are secured to inner faces of two adjoining bands near the edges. This holder 35 and its wings are secured to the underside of the single wings 33 Y by means of screws and nuts allowing of a limited adjustment while in its center the spider has a square hole allowing a securing of the disk to the vertical shaft.
It will be clearv that by suitable adjustiiientoi3 the wingsin their relative position byV means of the screws' and nuts the distance between the adjoining cutting edges of two disks may be varied at will and thus thicker or'thinner slices may be cut from a head'of cabbage upon the operation ot the handle and slicing disk through the intermediary of the shafts and gears.
At the end of the bracket` 24 a rhomboid shaped boir36 is'provided below the cutterv disk openon top and bottom through which :the cut cabbage slices tall into a suitable the crank 28 is turned with the right hand,
thetable being of such a height that the knee of the operator may rest upon the top 23.
The turning 4of the crank will .operate through the intermediary of the .horizontal shaft 23, the bevel gears 26 and 30 and the vertical shaft 29 the cutterdisk 32 and slice the cabbage. The slices will icall off through nipulation of these nuts and screws as will b c readily understood.

What l claim and desire to secureby Letters Patent is ln a Slicer of the cutterdisk, comprising a plurality of wings, .beveled and curved cutting edges on said wings, the cutting edge of one wing in a dit- :terent plane than the edge of the next adjoining wing, bands to connect the meeting edges of two adjoining wings atthe periphery of said cut-ter, and means for securing said bands to said wings, a spider having a plurality oit curved wings with beveled edges,
