IMPROVEMENT IN DIES FOR PRESSING HATS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 139,708, dated June 10, 1873,; application filed April 25, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
' Be it known that I, JASON DESPER, of Barre, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Heating Hat- Dies; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specilication:
The nature of my invention relates to an improvement in dies for pressing hats; and it consists in casting the die around a pipe, suitably arranged in the mold, through which pipe steam is kept constantly passing, as will be more fully described hereafter.

pipe may be arranged so as to coil around in the die, as may be desired, and through which a current or jet of steam will be kept constantly passing so as to impart an even and uniform heat to the die, which can be readily controlled and regulated, the steam in no case coming in contact with the mold or die itself, nor stopping in, its passage through.
