UNITED STATES PATENT oF icE.
ALBERT J. RICHARDSON, OF JOPLIN, MISSOURI.

Specification of e s Patent Patented Oct. 11 1921..
Applicationfiled February 14,- 1921. Serial' No. 444,961. 7
vide an indicator on the hand cooperating with the movable part ofthe dial for indicating the hour.
. This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to-be hereinafterfully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended I claims.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to 'the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote llke or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a face view of with my inventionr r Fig. 2 is a section on line 2-2 oi Fig. 1. In these views 1 indicates'a minutehand arbor to which the minute-hand 2 is connected and 3 indicates the hour sleeve or arbor to which a disk 4=is secured. This disk may occupy a recess formed in the dial 5 so that it will be flush with said dial 5 or it may be located above said dial. Dial 5 1s a clock provided divided into sixty minutes by the usual in dicating marks, as shown, and the clock may also be provided with the means 6 for indicating the seconds. Disk 4 carries the numerals 1 to 12 for indicating the hours and the hand 2 is provided with a projection 7 for cooperating with said numerals.
.As the disk 4: rotates eleven twelfths as fast as the minute hand the projections 7 011 said minute hand will indicate the hour while the extremity of saidhand will indicatethe minutes. Thus the one hand will indicate both'the hour and minutes of the time so that the time can be easily and quickly read as it is simply necessary to glance at the numeral projection 7 is adj acent to, to find the hour and the numeral the finger is pointing at to find'the minutes.
- The drawing shows the time as 6-13;
It is thought from the foregoing descrip t1on that the advantages and novel features of my lnvention will be readily apparent.
f I desire-it to be understood that I may.
make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provlded that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims. 1
What I claim 1s-:-' 7 1. A dial of the class described comprising a minute and hour hand arbor, a disk occupying a recess formed in the dial, said dial divided into sixty minutes and means for indicating the seconds, the disk carrying the numerals for indicating the hour, a proection provided on the minute handof the dial for cooperating with said numerals, the
disk rotating eleven twelfths as fast 'as the minute hand so permitting the projection on said hand to indicate the hour, and the extremity of the hand to indicate the minutes. 2. 'In combination with a time-piece, a
.dial part connected withthe hour arbor and having hour indicating numerals thereon, a
minute hand having a projection thereon cooperating with the numeral for indicating the hour anda dial cooperating with the v minute hand and divlded into sixty mlnutes.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
' ALBERT J. RICHARDSON.
