Be it known that I, PREsroN E. THREET, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State ot' Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Combination-Tools, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a new and useful improvement in combination tools, and has for its object to provide a tool of this def scri tion which will consist of a carving kn' e, saw, joint severer, bottle opener, and can opener.

With these ends in view, this invention consists in the details of construction and combination of elements hereinafter set forth and then speciiicallyv designated by the claim.

In order that those skilled in' the art to which this invention appertains may understand how to make and use the same, l

n carrying out my invention as here embodied, l represents a handlel to which is secured the blade 2, one edge of said blade being sharpened to serve as a knife, the

other edge having saw teeth 3 formed thereon. The saw teeth extend from the handle to within a short distance from-the end oiA the blade, from which point on are twol 1nwardly curved sections 4 forming the joint severing teeth 5.

The handle 1 inand in this recess is pivoted the member 7 by means of the intle 8, said pintle passfor the purpose ot permittingthat portion 1 of the blade to be bowed inward within said cavity when the member 7 is being opened or closed. This bowing or springhas a recess Giormed there-l action of the inner end of the blade serves to holdthe member 7 in either its opened or 5'5 its closed position, as will be readily` understood.

The member 7 L.has a bottleopener 11 formed therewith, and also a' can-opening blade 12 is formed with said member. This 60 last-named blade has a` prong 13 formed therewith so asf to bear against a can .in

guiding the blade when opening said can.

When themember 7 is'closed into the recess 5 the prong 13 will enter the 'cavity 1t 65 leading from said recess, thus housing the member 7 and the parts lcarried thereby to prevent interference with the hand of the user in grasping the handle.

From this description it will be seen that the' tool may be readily used for carving or lother cutting; and when cutting meat and a bone is encountered, by reversing the blade the saw may be brought into action to sever said bone, or in carving fowl the oints may 75 be severed vby the use of the teet 5. Also when it is necessary to open a can the member .7 may be swung outward to the position shown-in Fig. 2, and the blade 12 in conjunction with the prong 13 may be utilized l8e for this purpose; and when a bottle is to be opened the bottle opener 11 may be applied to the closure cap of said bottle to remove it therefrom. 0f course ll do noth wish to be limited to 85 the exact details'of construction as herein shown, as these may be varied within the limits of the appended claim withoutdepartingfrom the spirit of my invention.
