Referring now to the drawings,iI have" shown acar-body 1 suspended from over-I head. This car is provided at thetop with a central beam 2 whichis preferably made in the form of a truss',l and the car, is, asgit were,'built around this upper central truss. At intervals along thecar body, and particularly at the points where it is suspended,

A car comprising a body portion, a stiiening frame connected with said body portion, said stiiiening frame having side pieces and a cross piece at the top vconnecting said side pieces, and a central beam extending longitudinally of the car body and connected Vwith said stiffening frame, a truck above said body portion and adapted to run upon a fixed support, a connection between said body portion and said truck, and a safety supporting device independent of the truck and adapted to supportsaid body portion on the fixed support near the connection to the truck face.

and a metal hood connecting said hanger devices and extendinglongitudinally along the car so as to form a storage receptacle beneath said hangers. Y
