' GEORGE G. L. TISCH, 0F ELIZABETH, NEW, JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO TISGl-I MACHINE & TOOL & DIE WORKS, INC., OF ELIZABETH, NEW JERSEY, A CORPORATION OF NEW JERSEY.
J'ACQUARD-DRUM.
Application filed May 18,
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE CHRISTIAN LOUIS TIscH, a'citizen' of the United States, and a resident of Elizabeth, in the county of Union and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Jacquard- Drum, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to jacquard drums, and has for an object the provision of an improvedconstruction wherein a drum or wheel structure is used for holding the pins, instead of an ordinary link structure. 7 Another object of the invention is to provide a pair of spaced wheel structures formed with a series of radiating openings to take the place of a jacquard link in a knitting machine or loom and to bring the pins opposite the needle bars at the proper time and with accuracy.
A still further object of the inventionis to provide knitting machines and the like I wlth a jacquard drum formed with means for carrying a series of pins capable of acting on the needle bars correctly, the construction preventing any appreciable tilting orloose side lIlOlllOIlOf the pins. 7
In the accompany1ng-draw1ngs Figure 1 is an elevation of a jacquard.
drum disclosing an embodiment of the invention, a driving mechanism being shown in connection'therewith.
Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the construction shown in Fig. 1.
Referring to the accompanying drawings by numeral, 1 indicates a drive mechanism,
which is fully described and claimed in m Patent No. 1,881,031, issued June 7, 1921.
This driving mechanism is connected with the shaft 2 so as to rotate the same inter mittently in order to bring the respective pins 3 opposite the various thread carrying Specification of Letters Patent.
the spirit of the invention.

bars 4. The pins 3 are arranged in apertures in the drum 5, said apertures being positioned to coact with the driving mechanism 1 so that at proper intervals a new set of pins 3 will be brought opposite the bars 4. The drum 5 preferably is formed with a pair of spaced wheels 6 and 7 joined by a tubular body 8, which is preferably integral with the wheels 6 and 7. Set screws orother fastening means 9 secure or clamp the drum 5 rigidly to theshaft 2.
In the drawing ten series of radial aper turesare provided for the pins 3, but it will be evident that a greater or a less number could be provided without departing from Where a different number is provided, the driving mechanism 1 must be adjusted to take care of'the different number or series of apertures. i r
What I claim is:
1. A jacquard drum comprisingfa body and a plurality of spaced'wheels, each wheel having a plurality'of series of radiating pin receiving apertures, the apertures in one wheel being in line with the apertures inthe adjacentwheel.
2. A jacquard drum comprising an integral structure formed with a pair of parallel wheels and a connecting tubular body at the center, said wheels having series of registering apertures,'each series being arranged 011 a line radiating from the center.
3. A jacquard drum comprising a tubular body formed with a pair of spaced radiating flanges presenting wheel structures, each radiatlng rows of apertures other flange, said apertures.
