for use in exhibiting posters and the like for advertising motion picture vertising merchandise. V
The invention has, as one of its objects, the provision of a stand of the above menplays, or for ad tioned character which has several exhibiting faces and is adapted to be rotated forthe successive display of these faces.
The invention has, as another ofits objects, the provision of suitable mechanism whereby the stand may be electrically revolved.
in means for removably securing the posters in position and for illuminating the same.
without destroying the artistic value thereof.
Another object of the invention consists in providing means for furnishing electric cur rent to lighting means on the revolving portion of the stand.
In the drawings: 7
Figure 1 is a side elevation stand,
Fig. 2 is a section on the line 22 of Fig. 1,
Fig. 3 is a section on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2. r
In detail: h
The invention, as herein shown, oomprises fixed and movable structures A and B, respectively. V
The fixed structure A consists of a base 1, upon which is mounted a secondary base 2 of the display carrying the pyramidal frame structure 3' having a series of risers 4 which support a head plate5, providing a bearing 6 alining with a step bearing 7 secured to the base 2 by bolts 8. 7
Near the lower end of each riser 4 is a member 9', and said members 9 form a carrying means for a guide ringlO, the function of which will be hereinafter set forth.
A vertical post 11 mounts a brush 12 at the 1 upper end and said brush is adjustably secured in place by a thumb screw 13 working in a slot 14 in the end of said post 11.
On the base 2 is mounted a motor 1 5 of DISPLAY-STAND.

any suitable type and the shaft of, which carries a worm 16. Y
'The movable structure B consists of upper and lower polygonal webs 17 and 18, respectlvely, held inspaced relation by suitable framing struts 19. In cross section these framing members are shaped to form panelrece ving recesses, while the-sides of the polygonal webs are in the form of angles to add strength to the structure. The'up'per polygonal web 17 is provided with spokes 20'and a center piece 21 which mountspas indicated at 22, the upper end of a vertical shaft 23 running through the bearing 6,
in the stationary structureA and'seating in the step bearing7. A worm wheel 24 is keyed, or otherwisefsecured to. the lower end of the shaft 23 and meshes with the worm 16 with the result that the motor 15 A further object of the invention resides driving the vertical shaft 23, rotates the movable structure B.
To stabilize the movable structure B, there is mounted on the sides of the lower polygonal web 18 a series of pulley supports 25 carrying pulleys 26 which bear against the guide ring 10 with the result that, during rotation of the movable structure B, there is no tendency to tilt or shake from side to side. I
The openings in the framing structure 19 are filled in with backing pieces 27 each hinged at 28 and secured against movement by catches 29. To these backing pieces 27 are tacked the posters 30 which-are then covered by glass 31 carried in the frames '32 hinged at 33 and fastened at the'top by suitable catches. Secured to the top of the framing structure 19 by bolts 34 and nuts 35 is a pyramidal cap structure 36 having openings 37 in which are located, by means of suitable frame clips 38, the advertising panels 39. Adjacent the lower portion of the pyramidal cap structure 36 and disposed at the top of each face of the polygonal movable, structure B, is an illuminating fixture 40 in the form of an incandescent light having a downwardly reflecting shade 41.
Mounted on the web 21 and, insulated therefrom by the annulus 42 of insulating material is a contact track member 43 against which the brush 12 bears. Carried above this contact member and connected therewith as indicated, are the wires 44 46 having a passage 47 admits the cable 48 to the display stand and supplies current for the lights and for the motor 15, the current being taken off through the frame and through the brush member 12.
I claim:
1. A display stand comprising a stationary frame, a vertical shaft rotatably mounted in and extending above said frame, an outer frame secured to the upper end of the shaft and inclosing the stationary frame, an annular track secured about the stationaryframe near the lower end thcreof, horizontally disposed rollers mounted on the interior of the onterframe at the lower end thereof and engaging the outer side of said track, means for rotating the shaft, and display panels on the outer frame.
2. A display stand comprising a stationary frame, a vertically disposed shaft mounted for rotation in said frame, an outer frame consisting of upper and lower webs, and display panels carried by said webs, the lower web encircling the stationary frame and the upper web being secured to the upper end of the shaft,
a. collector ring carried by and insulated from the upper web, a brush carried by the stationary frame and in constant contact with the under side of the collector ring, and lamps mounted upon the outer frame exteriorly thereof and at the upper end of the same and in circuit with the collector ring and the brush.
3. A display stand comprising a station ary frame consisting of risers and a head plate carried by the upper ends of the risers, a vertically disposed shaft mounted'for rotation in said head plate, an outer frame consisting of an upper web secured to the upper end of said shaft, a lower web encircling the stationary frame, and display panels connecting said webs, a cap frame over the upper web and secured thereto, a collector ringcarried by said upper. web, a brush upon the stationary frame in constant contact with the under side of the collector ring, a motor carriedby the stationary frame and geared to said shaft. lamps mounted eX- teriorly upon the upper frame upon the up per end thereof and in circuit with the collector ring, a sleeve carried by the cap at the center of the same, and an electric condu'-toi' passing through said sleeve to the motor and in circuit with the lamps the motor and the brush.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
